What is the purpose of this document?

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (the “University provides information and services to, the students, employees, the public and all users of its information technologies through its website

The University is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal data of our users and being transparent about the information we hold. 

This Privacy Notice describes how we collect and use personal data, in accordance with Law No. 13 of 2016 (the “Personal Data Privacy Protection Law ”). This Privacy Notice shall be applicable to all personal data collected by or submitted to the University. 

The University is a "Data Controller". This means that we are responsible for deciding the purpose for which and the means by which your personal data is processed. We are required under the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law to notify you of the information contained in this Notice. For the avoidance of doubt, this Privacy Notice covers the electronic processing of personal data in addition to traditional methods of data processing. 

This Privacy Notice applies to personal data and information of website visitors. It does not apply to any personal information of employees or independent contractors of the University. 

This Privacy Notice does not form part of any contract of employment or other contract to provide services. 

It is important that you read and retain this Privacy Notice, together with any other notices we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you, so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information and what your rights are under the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law.
