This year we also begin work on our innovative concept-based curriculum. This will be a great opportunity for the successful candidate to participate in whole school meaningful curriculum design as we reshape what and how students learn during their time with us.

Our Sixth Form is popular and vibrant with approximately 50% of our students choosing to stay in Qatar for their university choices and the other 50% leaving to study in destinations such as Malaysia, Canada, the Netherlands, Philippines, Australia, South Africa, and the USA.
We are seeking an experienced, resilient Head of Sixth Form who can inspire both students and colleagues to strive for academic excellence whilst developing compassion for others, showing a commitment to ensuring that student wellbeing and support is a priority. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership experience in careers advice and the effective use of Unifrog. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher, who shares our vision and commitment to join an aspirational and hardworking Middle Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing a team of sixth form tutors and for overseeing the planning, resourcing, and delivery of a high-quality tutor programme, that articulates our values and secures the best pastoral and academic outcomes for sixth form students during their A Level years
Lead sixth form students to embed their understanding of our shared vision, mission, and values
Strategic vision to ensure all students have access to relevant and challenging learning opportunities
Demonstrate ambitious standards of teaching and learning and promote high expectations
Ensure sixth form students are exemplary role models for their peers, showing effective leadership of student behaviour for learning
Ensure the energetic and dedicated contributions of staff to facilitate and encourage independent student learning
Strategically lead careers guidance and advice for sixth form
Actively promote and implement innovative and creative sixth form events
Ensure active student leadership and introduce student focused initiatives, across the whole school
Oversee the pastoral care of the sixth form and liaise with colleagues to ensure an effective transition from KS4
Analyse data post assessments at AS and A Level; monitor academic progress and liaise with relevant colleagues to plan appropriate support and interventions as required
Provide CPD for colleagues as relevant
Work with the community to develop good relationships and parent/school partnerships

Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status
Current knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and AS and A level requirements
Current knowledge of UK and international university requirements
Experienced teacher of one or more of the sciences or of a modern foreign language
A minimum of four years experience as an outstanding leader in a high performing UK or international school, able to motivate and engage staff through change and innovation
Proven team management skills
Excellent communication skills
Commitment to continued personal and professional development

Desirable:
NPQML
Knowledge, understanding and experience of concept-led curricula at KS3
