Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Affairs Counsel to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contract law, specialising in various legal agreements crucial to our operations, including Joint Ventures (JVs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Partnership Agreements, Lease Agreements, Articles of Association, Franchise Agreements, and Management Agreements. The role requires proficiency in contract negotiations, ensuring our interests are protected while fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.

In addition to contract law expertise, the candidate should deeply understand intellectual property issues and litigation processes. Experience in company restructuring, corporate governance, compliance, and risk assessment is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts and agreements essential to our business operations.

2. Providing legal counsel and guidance on intellectual property matters.

3. Handling litigation matters effectively, collaborating with external legal counsel when necessary.

4. Assisting in company restructuring initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

5. Conducting thorough risk assessments and implementing strategies to mitigate legal risks.

6. Supporting corporate governance practices and maintaining legal documentation.

7. Collaborating with internal departments to ensure legal compliance and alignment with organisational objectives.

Requirements:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.

2. Admitted to practice law in Qatar or equivalent jurisdiction.

3. Extensive experience in contract law, particularly with JVs, MOUs, Partnership Agreements, Lease Agreements, Articles of Association, Franchise Agreements, and Management Agreements.

4. Proven track record in contract negotiations and dispute resolution.

5. Familiarity with intellectual property laws and litigation procedures.

6. Strong understanding of company restructuring, corporate governance, compliance, and risk assessment principles.

7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

8. Fluency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
