Job Description Senior Civil Engineer - Doha, Qatar

Job Purpose:

We are looking to recruit a Civil/ Structural Engineer who will perform a variety of professional civil and structural engineering work in the design, design review, coordination and high level construction monitoring for a major infrastructure project, with emphasis on major highways, interchanges, bridges and other structures.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

It is envisaged that the right candidate will have a broad understanding of all design aspects of Civil and Structural Engineering, particularly in respect of major structures and bridges, including an ability to:

review and respond to Contractor's requests for technical information. This may require an extensive review of the available design information including drawings, specifications, calculations and bills of quantities, contractors method statements and other parts of the overall contract documents
be able to quickly understand the issues, be a self starter and prepare appropriate technically appropriate, correct and coherent written responses or undertake directly the necessary design changes and supervise the draughting directly of the necessary changes, or alternatively direct remote engineering design teams who may be undertaking the design changes
be part of and fully contribute to a high level multi disciplinary and fully integrated design and design review team
liaison with the client, project manager, contractor and design consultant representatives

Job Skills Job Requirements:

civil engineering degree with 6 to 10 years relevant design experience in the design, design management, project management and coordination of civil engineering works, general infrastructure, structure and bridge works

significant relevant design experience, but also some site supervision experience and ideally on large scale projects in the Middle East region

able to interface with client, project manager, contractor and other consultants and hold his ground

very articulate and able to converse and prepare correspondence and reports in English About The Company
