client is a well-established and leading EPC & Maintenance Contractor
who provides services to clients within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and
Power Industries.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior
Claim Specialist to be based in Doha to lead Preparation,
coordination, issue and administration of large value Claims and Time
Extensions with ability to analyse and report various attributes such
as, progress, contract variation and claims status.
Reporting
to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Analysis
of contractual terms and conditions
• Analysis of tender pricing,
rates and productivity levels
• Inspection and analysis of records
and contractual notices
• Analysis of actual time spent, costs
incurred and actual productivity achieved
• Preparation of a cause
and effect detailed analysis
• Presentation and negotiation of the
claim
• Identification of contractual routes for the recovery of
cost
• Requirements for extension of time claims include:
•
Identification of planned programme and critical path
•
Ascertaining the adequacy of the planned programme and correcting as
necessary
• Analysis of the revised/updated programs and reasons
for changes
• Inspection of records and delay notices
•
Preparation of delay analysis using accepted techniques
•
Presentation and negotiation of the claim
• Adopting the correct
strategy is the mainstay of successful claim/dispute resolution. Needs
to offer strategic guidance that is focused on the provable issues and
to prepare documentation that is technically, legally and commercially
correct. To be able to deal with construction disputes involving

• Minimum of 10 ‘successful’ years of High Value
Claims and Time Extensions experience in the Middle East.
•
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant professional
qualifications
• Fifteen (15) years project experience of which
Five (5) years must be in Contract Administration for Major Build
projects/contracts.
• Fully conversant in Primavera P3 and the use
of Primavera P3 in the preparation of as-built and cause and affect
programs. Be able to analyse and accurately compare Primavera
programme revisions and develop strategies for utilizing this
information in the preparation of claims.
• Have proven ability of
the successful development and negotiation of complex contractual
claim submissions on Mega International Projects
• Strong computer
skills including effective development and operation of analytical
spread sheets
