Job Description
The Labor Relations Team Leader is responsible for supervising the team in resolving employee issues, managing HR communications, staff satisfaction, and other related HR initiatives. This role involves performing administrative functions related to personnel policies that impact work conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, absence management, and grievance procedures to ensure effective service and promote harmonious industrial relations within the organization.
Job Responsibilities- Supervise the team in processing, tracking, and recording separations such as resignations and terminations, as advised by the Labor Operations Manager.
- Support the team in arranging tickets and exit permits from Head Office/Immigration and coordinating with Camps and PMV for deportation of separated workers.
- Ensure the prompt preparation of separation documents like resignation and termination notices, following instructions from the Operations Manager.
- Process, track, and record various types of leaves (Annual, Unpaid, Emergency, Sick) for staff and laborers, including managing tickets and exit permits from Head Office and Camps.
- Prepare workers' duty resumption documents related to various leaves and coordinate signatories and information flow to Data Entry Operators for system updates.
- Coordinate with the Recruitment Department regarding new arrivals, ensuring accurate recording and reporting across departments such as HR, Operations, Camps, and PMV.
- Manage visa requirements, including blood group testing, medical examinations, and fingerprinting, in coordination with Head Office and Camps.
- Update master sheets for department records with information on active manpower, leave, separation, and other data, distributing updates among colleagues for routine work.
- Follow up with HR and Payroll Departments on staff-related HR issues.
- Handle employment contract receipt, signing, and dispatch to HR.
- Process renewal of workers' RP, passports, and address related issues.
- Coordinate with the HR Department (Head Office) on urgent matters such as passport undertakings, RP renewal, and healthcare renewals.
- Prepare reimbursement documents for medical expenses related to site accidents.
Further responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Job Knowledge & Skills- Advanced knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills for managing disputes, grievances, and contract negotiations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with employees, union representatives, and management.
- Experience in investigations, dispute mediation, and labor contract interpretation.
- Leadership and strategic planning capabilities to develop and implement positive labor relations strategies.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP HR modules, is required.
Minimum 8 years of work experience, including 5 years relevant experience; experience in GCC countries is a plus.
EducationBachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
