K ey Responsibilities :
  1. General Legal Support:
    1. Assist in drafting correspondence and legal documents;
    2. Under the supervision of the Legal and Corporate Governance Manager, provide day to day legal support to various departments within the Affiliate, including HR, CSR, COM, Finance, Operated Asset and OBO;

  1. Contract Review and Management:
    1. Assist in the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of various contracts, namely services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, real estate agreements, employment related agreements, etc;
    2. Ensure that contracts are aligned with Affiliate's policies and legal requirements;
    3. Maintain organized records of all contracts and related documents.


  1. Regulatory Compliance:
    1. Support in monitoring and ensuring compliance with local, national and international laws and regulations relevant for the oil and gas sector, namely by performing the legal watch and identifying new laws and regulations relevant for the activities of TotalEnergies in Qatar.


  1. Corporate Governance
    1. Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and best practices with respect to incorporated joint ventures where TotalEnergies holds a shareholding interest.


  1. Document Management:
    1. Assist in managing the legal department's document and record-keeping systems;
    2. Organize and maintain confidential legal files and records.


  1. Litigation Support:
    1. Provide administrative support for litigation matters, including gathering and organizing documents;
    2. Assist in coordinating with external counsel as needed.


Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent from an accredited law school. Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in corporate law, contracts law and regulatory compliance.

Professional experience: 0-2 years PQE

Those in tax controversy and dispute resolution at PwC will assist clients in managing tax controversies and resolving disputes with tax authorities. In this field, you will provide advice and representation during audits, investigations, and appeals, aiming to achieve favourable outcomes for clients while maintaining compliance with tax laws.

PwC's existing team has extensive experience working with the Tax Authority in Qatar, with a thorough understanding of the tax audit approach, tax assessment methodology and penalty regime application.

Our team helps clients through the various interactions with the Tax Authority, from the preliminary stages of responding to the inquiries during a tax audit and up to the objection / appeal stages. In addition, the team is involved in assisting clients in meeting their tax compliance obligations in Qatar, including filing tax returns based on audited financial statements.

You will support our clients with all aspects of audit readiness, voluntary disclosure and clarifications requests, tax compliance support, assistance during tax audit and formalities of drafting and submitting objections and appeal letters to the relevant authorities in Qatar.

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance and corporate tax disputes resolution in a reputable tax consultancy firm (preferably Big4) or similar organization.
  • A professional (tax or accounting) qualification is required (e.g. ACA, CTA, ADIT, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Language - Fluency in written and spoken English. Arabic will be a plus.

Role Main Responsibilities

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
  • The Legal Counsel is responsible for handling all legal related issues and advice pertaining to the Company, project owners, and affiliates under relevant service agreements, often involving complex matters across Qatar and global jurisdictions.
  • Ensure practices are aligned with accepted industry standards and best practices and are also consistent with statutory, regulatory, and corporate guidelines.
  • Has a high degree of freedom in the execution of job functions, events, and activities within legal environment.
Key Job Accountabilities - I
  • Provide legal advice and guide stakeholders, regulators and contractors on legal related issues adhering to department guidelines and law in a timely manner.
  • Assist in reviews and drafting policies and regulations to ensure consistency with applicable law.
  • Perform duties such as interpreting laws and follow up legal suits and arbitration to which the Company is a party to and supervise the activities undertaken by outside counsel.
  • Draft letters and documents addressed to Governmental authorities on legal related issues and maintain filing record of government documentation.
  • Draft, review and negotiate all contractual arrangements including those with contractors, customers, consultants, suppliers, buyers, lenders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Company policies and department objectives.
Key Job Accountabilities - II
  • Assist in developing standard agreements and reviews all agreements to ensure Company is legally protected.
  • Support investigations for identifying and resolving legal issues, recommending the most appropriate approaches to remain efficient.
  • Represent the Legal department on internal or external working groups and committees and implement legal strategies in support of the legal Department' objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of international best practices, internal and external laws, rules, and regulations and integrate into the Company policy and procedure.
  • Perform other duties at the request of the Associate General Counsel and/or General Counsel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Laws "LLB" or Juris Doctor "JD" degree from a recognised law School or,
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline and otherwise qualified as a Lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction.
Knowledge and/or Experience
  • 6 years' experience and commercial knowledge related to oil and gas industry.
  • Front line legal advisory experience in multi-national, multicultural environment.

Role Overview: We are seeking highly experienced Legal Experts and Senior Experts to provide strategic legal guidance, manage complex legal risks, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory frameworks . These roles involve leading major legal initiatives, advising senior management, and overseeing significant litigation and corporate transactions.

Requirements Key Responsibilities:

For Both Levels:

  • Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of complex contracts and agreements.
  • Manage major litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations.
  • Advise on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate laws and industry-specific regulations.
  • Provide guidance on intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance matters.
  • Develop legal policies and frameworks to mitigate organizational risk.

Additional for Senior Expert:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to C-suite executives and board members.
  • Oversee legal risk management across the enterprise.
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations and complex corporate transactions.
  • Mentor and develop mid-level legal professionals.
  • Represent the organization in external legal forums or arbitration panels.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; Master's degree or specialization preferred.
  • Expert: 11-13 years of progressive experience in legal advisory or in-house legal practice.
  • Senior Expert: 14-16 years of experience in corporate law, legal strategy, and leadership roles.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Deep knowledge of corporate, commercial, employment, and intellectual property law.
  • Expertise in litigation management, contract negotiation, and corporate transactions.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal risks and advise executive leadership.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Bar admission or legal practice license.
  • Certifications in corporate law, arbitration, compliance, or intellectual property law are an advantage.
