Role Overview
The Planner will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with client and EPC-3 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Monitor progress, identify delays, and recommend recovery actions.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and forecasts for management and clients.
- Analyze manpower and resource allocation.
- Support planning for shutdowns, tie-ins, and brownfield activities.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and HSE teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years' experience in planning within the Oil & Gas sector (Qatar/GCC preferred).

Primary Purpose Of The Job
Extend the life and profitability of offshore fields by optimizing assets, reducing costs, and advancing development opportunities from inception to project sanction. Conduct petroleum engineering optimization, debottlenecking studies, and new technology trials for Qatar Energy's offshore oil fields to refine development plans.
Engage in corporate level planning process such as business / asset plan, and WP&B.
Oversee and develop integrated plans for both developed and undeveloped hydrocarbon resources, while coaching and mentoring staff.
Lead multidisciplinary studies, bridging geoscience, reservoir engineering, drilling, production, and facilities to ensure cohesive asset development.
Required Experience And Skills
- Prefer 10+ years work experience in reservoir engineering activities.
- Experience in key project development phases (Viability, Concept Select, Pre-FEED, FEED, etc.)
- Good experience in constructing numerical reservoir simulation models (black-oil and compositional), model initialization, history matching, running sensitivities and predictions.
- Experience in transient well test design and interpretation, material balance modelling and performance prediction.
- Proficiency in well planning, and economic evaluation.
- Experience with business planning process.
- Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural and integrated environment is a plus. Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
