Job Objectives:

To perform work assignment on program plans and corrective maintenance including calibration, installation, repairs and troubleshooting and ensure to comply with all specifications, with best practice requirements. The work scope also includes all instrument and control system such as process control instrumentation, DCS & PLC control system, gas turbine and compressors control system and its necessary accessories, CCC Anti Surge Control system, ESD systems, pneumatic operated control valves, motor operated control valves, hydraulic operated control valves.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to contract services staff at job site.
• Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for all instrumentation equipment to ensure operational effectiveness and preserve company assets.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities for the plant wide instruments.
• Proficiency in reading P&ID diagrams and demonstrating instruments process parameter details & configuration.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience to calibrate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair for the plant wide instruments.
• Ability to read calibration certificates and develop actions based on findings.
• Background knowledge on calibration associate standards for industrial requirements.
• Monitor and maintain the operational efficiency of all process control system instrumentation through operational analysis to ensure optimum performance.
• Attend daily meetings with lead technicians and supervisor and plan routine jobs ensuring compliance with Qatalum standards.
• Report operational and functional problems to Supervisor and carry out remedial action under direction.
• Maintain full service record/history of all action and work carried out on instrumentation equipment for CMMS and SAP records.
• Support the development and training of National employees.
• Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company practices taking into account 'international best practice', changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
• Comply with all agreed occupational health, safety and environmental regulations to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state for safe and effective work.
• Generate or assist in generation of any departmental reports prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.
• Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Substation Testing Maintenance Engineer

Job Details

1. Engineers shall perform isolations and restorations required for circuits and equipment according to the switching program and restore all supply after completion.
2. Engineers shall fill out all required site forms for substation, transformers, switchgear, MV/LV panel operation, monitoring, preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
3. Engineers shall have experience in testing and commissioning associated with HV substations. Work experience in national and distribution control centres for conducting end-to-end testing of new substations. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in maintenance, testing, and protection schemes. Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's / Engineering degree (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
4. Engineers shall contribute towards achieving electrical effectiveness and quality of services. They shall implement switching operations and maintenance programs for 11kV and 0.415kV substation equipment.
5. Engineers shall be able to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently.
6. Engineers shall be able to rectify communication issues with SCADA systems.
7. Engineers shall develop written test procedures to perform operations, monitoring, preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
8. Engineers shall develop relay testing procedures prior to performing relay testing.
9. Engineers shall lead investigations of electrical-related issues, including root cause analysis as needed.
10. Engineers shall be able to calibrate and perform functional tests on electromechanical and micro-processor-based protective relays/meters for substations and other systems covered under this contract.
11. Engineers shall be capable of troubleshooting primary and distribution power networks.
12. Engineers shall have a minimum of four years of experience with relay test software for testing protection relays.
13. Engineers shall have experience in installing, maintaining, testing, or repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, or similar equipment.
14. Engineers shall be able to read and understand protection and control schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams, identifying mistakes and problems by comparing with available drawings.
15. Engineers shall possess knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices, with broad experience with regulations, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles necessary for complex or unique assignments.
16. Engineers shall prepare and submit switching programs to the company for approval.
17. One engineer shall have the required permit (LOA) to work in RLFM 2 and PRB 31 from Kahramaa to perform maintenance work on 132/11 KV power transformers, protection relays, and 11 KV switchgears.
