We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Proposal Engineer to join our Electrification & Automation team in Qatar. This role focuses on project proposals for Low Voltage (LV) Systems and Protection & Automation Systems, supporting the full sales lifecycle and driving strategic growth initiatives.

Your Role – International, Challenging, and Future-Oriented

As a Proposal Engineer, you will be responsible for the preparation, evaluation, and submission of technically and commercially compliant offers. Your key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing customer specifications and ensuring technical compliance in coordination with stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Customer).
• Preparing configurations using SIMARIS Configurator, NX-Tools+, and OGT (experience preferred).
• Managing end-to-end proposal and contract processes, including evaluating the impact of changes in requirements, costs, and delivery schedules.
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies to address project-specific risks.
• Ensuring adherence to defined business processes and quality standards.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Siemens factories.
• Collaborating closely with Sales, Business Administration, and Project Execution teams to enhance proposal quality and win rate.
• Supporting and driving sales strategies and business development initiatives across the region.

Your Qualifications – What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• Proven experience (multiple years) in a similar proposal or technical engineering role within the Low Voltage Switchgear domain.
• In-depth understanding of Electrical Networks in Power Distribution, with emphasis on Low Voltage systems.
• Hands-on experience handling technical specifications from diverse sectors: Utilities, Industries, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas—both direct clients and EPC contractors.
• Strong knowledge of competitors and customer landscape in the LV switchgear segment.
• Commercial and technical acumen, with the ability to craft compelling proposals that meet client requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, with a mature and professional demeanor.
• Self-motivated and target-driven with a passion for growth and innovation.
• A strong team player, adaptable to multicultural work environments.
• Familiarity with the Middle East market, especially the Qatar region, is highly desirable.

Overview

Siemens Mobility (SMO) is the world’s leading provider of mobility solutions that enable the efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly transport of people and goods. We develop intelligent solutions for the growing digitalization of the transport sector, including rail vehicles, rail automation, road traffic management systems, rail electrification and services. In Qatar, Siemens Mobility is operating and maintaining the Education City Tram System, the world’s first low-floor, catenary-free tram system, which uses a Hybrid Energy System (HES) to power the tram between charging points along the route. Spanning 11 km, the network connects the North and South Campuses of Education City with 19 Siemens Avenio trams to enhance sustainable mobility in the region.

• Drive trams in strict compliance with company rules, operational procedures, and road traffic regulations.
• Ensure the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and other road users at all times.
• Deliver excellent customer service, assisting passengers and providing accurate journey information when needed.
• Identify and report any incidents, faults, or anomalies related to rolling stock and equipment to the Operations Control Center (OMCC).
• Maintain a thorough understanding of EC Tram Rolling Stock to conduct basic fault finding and rectification in line with operational and maintenance procedures.
• Report to Line Supervisors and Operations Controllers, following all operational orders and directives as instructed.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with passengers and Operations Controllers to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist during safety and quality audits, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and procedures.

• A valid Qatar road driving license (car, bus, or truck) for at least 2 years.
• A good physical condition, meeting Fitness Class 1 requirements.
• Be at least 21 years old and have a minimum height of 1.60m.
• Completed at least 10 years of successful school education.
• A solid understanding of rail public transport operations, including rules and procedures.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills to identify and document operational issues.
• The ability to work under pressure while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English to communicate effectively.
• A proactive, customer-focused mindset with attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
