About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Pipeline) to provide technical leadership across a range of offshore projects, including subsea pipelines, umbilicals, and riser systems. The role involves working through all phases of major oil and gas projects—from concept to commissioning—while maintaining technical quality and ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Engineering & Design

  • Lead technical services in offshore pipeline systems, including subsea umbilicals, power cables, and risers

  • Perform mechanical and stress design: wall thickness, lateral buckling, free-span, crossing analysis, and expansion

  • Develop technical scopes, interface specifications, and method statements

  • Review deviations from engineering codes and ensure technical compliance

  • Ensure robust technical assurance across project design and execution

Project Management & Oversight

  • Serve as technical lead for pipeline and subsea systems (tie-ins, risers, spools)

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and timely designs

  • Develop and maintain schedules through FEED and EPIC phases

  • Review vendor deliverables and ensure compliance with specifications

Interface & Coordination

  • Interface with departments (operations, drilling, topsides, maintenance) and contractors to resolve design and interface issues

  • Oversee integration between subsea and associated systems across project scopes

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Guide testing and inspection programmes to verify technical integrity prior to installation

  • Ensure alignment with HSE and project quality standards

Field Support

  • Provide onshore/offshore support during construction, commissioning, and startup

  • Liaise with site teams to address technical queries and ensure delivery to spec

Mentoring & Development

  • Provide guidance and on-the-job mentoring to junior engineers

  • Promote knowledge transfer in best practices for offshore and subsea engineering

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

  • Minimum 15 years' experience post-graduation, including 10 years in offshore oil & gas pipeline design and execution

  • Strong background in subsea mechanical design and stress analysis

  • Familiarity with umbilicals, riser systems, and offshore installation practices

  • Working knowledge of software tools such as AUTOPIPE, CAESAR II, SAGE, Orcaflex, ABAQUS (desirable)

  • Strong knowledge of offshore engineering codes and industry standards

  • Experience across the full project lifecycle (FEED to commissioning)
