• Lead and guide a team of structural engineers and designers to generate FEED and detailed engineering design basis, specifications, drawings, and associated calculations; recommend technical solutions for topsides and jacket for greenfield and brownfield modification projects.
• Act as Lead Engineer in project execution, owning specific tasks within the project.
• QA/QC of structural deliverables; review comments and ensure changes are included on latest documents.
• Check and correct design reports and drawings produced by the team to meet project requirements.
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with client specifications and resolve project technical queries.
• Ensure adherence to engineering practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Manage project scope/cost/time requirements and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure project success.
• Familiarity with international and client codes and standards for offshore structures.
• Assist the Discipline Manager and lead structural engineer duties as required; provide on-the-job training and supervision of engineers.
• Motivate team members and foster collaboration to maximize productivity and morale.
• Build positive relationships with external parties (customers, suppliers, contractors); support proposals and resource planning.
• Undertake other duties within competency as required by the Discipline Manager; manage commercial and technical risks and highlight significant issues.
• Support project change management and progress tracking with the Project Management Team; implement innovative solutions and methods to handle out-of-sequence work.
• Ensure Wood and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed; maintain high safety standards.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Offshore Marine Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry and offshore engineering design consultancy.

Overview

Engineering company based in Qatar looking for Senior offshore structural engineer role

12 months secondment contract

5 days on / 2 days off / 8-10 hours per day

• Ensure all facets of structural engineering for greenfield/brownfield modifications of offshore projects are compliant and safe in accordance with International and COMPANY standards and guidelines like Shell DEP, QatarEnergy standards, EN, ISO, API codes.
• Perform detailed engineering of offshore structures as a specialist graduate engineer.
• Apply major experience (more than 12 years) in offshore works, specifically for upstream Oil & Gas facilities, jackets & topside fixed platform structures.
• Independently handle Concept, FEED & Detail Engineering of offshore works based on project scope of work.
• Prepare comment resolution sheets for Client approval and handle technical queries.
