Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Assists the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates. Uses local/global standards to facilitate technical excellence. Assists checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings. Technical supervision of project designated Electrical designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty. Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success. Implements innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence. Assists Lead Engineer in monitoring quality activities, drives and participates in squad checking, recommends improvements, and takes action where required. Assist Project Team in project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules. Manage Electrical design and any design changes within budget and schedule. Prepare and participate in weekly Electrical meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures. Review and approve all related technical documents and coordinate with the Lead Engineer. Review and advice on layouts, site preparation, etc., during technical evaluation stage of bidder’s proposals to assess technical capability and ensure compliance with project specifications. Power System Analysis in ETAP for load flow, short circuit, motor starting, harmonics and Power factor correction. Preparation of Load List, Electrical system single line diagram, PMS architecture. Electrical equipment layout and cable way planning (ductbanks, trays in cable cellar/trenches) in substations and electrical rooms in other buildings. Performing / checking equipment sizing calculations (transformers, DG, UPS-Battery), lighting calculations (DIALux), Earthing calculations (ETAP), Lightning Protection calculations (IEC 62305). Checking of lighting and small power layouts, earthing layouts, lightning protection layouts, DB schedule. Effectively plan, help a team of designers in getting various drawings and schedules prepared, checked. MV cable sizing based on IEC60287 using CYMECAP will be an added advantage. A thorough knowledge of the regulations, codes and standards and a good knowledge of onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to electrical design for oil and gas facilities. Quality Assurance. Accountable for working within the provisions and guidelines of Quality Assurance systems. Safety. Accountable for personal safety, safe working practices. Industry Specific Experience : Must have vast experience in Electrical design and engineering of oil & gas / large industrial projects in Onshore projects. Experience in brown fields & asset services type project / contracts. Experience in MV cable sizing based on IEC60287 using CYMECAP will be an added advantage. Qatar project experience with knowledge of Kahramaa standards is preferred. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training : Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage. - 10-15 years of experience working in an oil & gas operator, with at least 5 years in asset integrity or reliability engineering

Job description
We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy Doha, Qatar for a Senior Electrical Engineer .
Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to and assisting the team lead in developing and maintaining an incident-free environment through a strong safety culture.
- Ensuring compliance with HSE legislation, company standards, and procedures for safety and plant integrity.
- Conducting asset selection and strategy definition.
- Identifying critical electrical and HVAC assets for assessment.
- Defining maintenance strategies (proactive/reactive).
- Gathering design, operational, and maintenance data.
- Determining the Designed End of Service Life (DEOSL) and verifying the actual End of Service Life (VEOSL).
- Performing asset integrity assessments.
- Conducting data gap analysis and integrity risk reviews.
- Setting up integrity databases and digital dashboards.
- Defining execution timelines and contracting strategies.
- Coordinating with third-party engineering firms for detailed studies.
- Executing and reporting on asset integrity assessments and life extension studies.
- Performing condition assessments, failure mode analysis, and life prediction modeling.
- Reviewing and validating third-party reports and recommendations.
- Preparing technical reports and presentations for senior management.
- Supporting CAPEX/OPEX planning based on findings.
- Visiting offshore sites to ensure successful delivery of job scopes and enhance collaboration.
- Performing any other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the line manager.
Qualifications:
- Graduated with a minimum of Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years offshore with on-field equipment in oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.
Profile
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
- 10-15 years of experience in oil & gas operations, with at least 5 years in asset integrity or reliability engineering.
- Experience working in a multicultural and highly technical environment.
