Description

We are looking for an Electrical Technician (Electrician) for the Kahramaa Project.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of distribution transformers, circuit breakers, ring main units, feeder pillars, HV & LV underground cables.
• Knowledge of internal wiring.
• Basic understanding of relays, fault indicators, electricity meters, ACBs, MCCBs, and meter installations.

Job Purpose :

To perform proper Preventive and Corrective maintenance in electrical systems for Treatment plant asset / equipment’s.

To troubleshoot electrical systems in accordance with HSE Procedures

To close work orders via Mobile / Tablet / Android based maintenance application.

Duties and Responsibilities :

The list of activities is not exhaustive and is subject to changes in coordination with the manager .

To perform proper installation, preventive maintenance and repair of electrical equipment such as Rotary equipment’s, DG, UPS , MCC panels, Starters, AC’s & Lighting to ensure their maximum service life and efficiency as well as their optimal utilization.

Performs maintenance and operating supervision in troubleshooting problems with critical and less critical equipment.

Performs corrective maintenance work.

Investigates and troubleshooting to be able to correct issues, provides support in performing root cause analysis.

Provides alternatives when equipment failure is impeding plant operation.

Prepares permit to work documentation and follows the health and safety requirements such as safe isolation procedures (Lock Out / Tag Out).

Understands drawings, SLD’s, schematics, P&IDs and supplier technical documentation for equipment.

Report in written (English) regarding the maintenance tasks performed, describing the activity properly and giving relevant data records.

Supervise the work of electrical subcontractors if instructed to do so by the supervisor.

Reviews equipment repair to detect required design changes in cases where abnormal / customized maintenance occurs.

Develops Maintenance repair procedures for critical equipment's.

To use Mobile / Tablet / Android based maintenance application to action and close assigned work orders

Educational Level

Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) & sufficient extensive field experience and / or trainings

Qualifications

Valid Qatari Driving licence for light vehicle (preferred)

Experience

Minimum 5-years of experience in a similar role in an industrial plant / Oil & Gas, including preferably at least 2 years in a similar role in a Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Candidate must have capacity to troubleshoot electrical systems

Experience in use of mobile / tablet based maintenance application platforms

Must be fit, Age below 40 (Mandatory).

A.t least 3 years of recent regional experience

Knowledge of local laws and regulations

1. Conduct daily reviews of defect cards, considering all constraints such as manpower availability, scaffolding needs, operational limitations, shutdown requirements, and permit caps to schedule defect rectifications efficiently.
2. Validate the daily scheduling of scaffolding-related defects and maintenance, ensuring all plans are accurately communicated.
3. Plan shutdown jobs in alignment with outage programs, coordinating across departments for smooth execution during major outages (inspection/overhauling).
4. Address discrepancies in daily generated PMS by the system, scheduling overdue PMS or defects as needed.
5. Respond to emergency manpower bookings after duty hours for critical maintenance needs.
6. Refine scheduling and planning processes based on operational feedback to improve maintenance efficiency.
7. Plan and distribute manpower for annual shutdowns, assisting in budget evaluation and resource allocation.
8. Review and schedule staff leaves annually to optimize manpower utilization.
9. Allocate and release manpower for work orders based on defect requirements, arranging necessary resources like scaffolding.
10. Generate and coordinate work orders manually when necessary, ensuring departmental alignment for major outages.
11. Review daily permit plans and follow up to secure unissued permits.
12. Evaluate manpower utilization data annually to ensure resource efficiency.
