As a Machinist, you will be responsible for :
- Operating and performing Turning, Drilling, Milling, Grinding, and Boring activities to required specifications
- Performing assembly & disassembly of rotors (Gas Turbine / Compressor)
- Selecting the appropriate cutting / hand tools, processes, hand tools, and equipment for the task
- Checking machinery daily to guarantee functionality
- Performing dimensional and visual inspections of rotors / GT related components
- Performing visual dye penetrant inspection
- Completing required documentation with accurate information such as routers / job cards, labor reporting, checklists, and inspection reports
- Understanding measuring instruments, mechanical equipment, and use of lifting tools
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines, balancing facilities, and auxiliaries
- Maintaining a clean work area and contributing to overall housekeeping efforts
- Updating digital shop systems related to assigned work (Digital Work Order, Time Vouchering, Operation completion)
- Ensuring the work area complies with HSE requirements and full compliance with BH Policies / Procedures

- Provide technical design and engineering services in Rotating Equipment Engineering for all assigned engineering projects, achieving the required technical quality of work in accordance with internal procedures, while considering quality, schedule, cost, and HSE.
- Conduct Rotating Equipment Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects from initial concept definition through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
- Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work scopes and during execution of Rotating Equipment Engineering activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices.
- Support the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and applying company standards and amendments to external standards.

- Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
- Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities; contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities for effective project delivery.
- Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
- Review and evaluate Contract Changes/Variations in line with approved guidelines and practices.
- Support the development of personal and team technical competencies. Participate in structured training programs for junior engineers.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
Experience
- 10 years relevant post-graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to the Oil & Gas industry.
- Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Rotating Equipment Engineering.
- Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
- Good communication and presentation skills with fluency in English

**About this role**
- Responsible to analyse, determine root cause failure and recommend remedial solution to ensure proper troubleshooting of reported problems on rotating equipment. The senior rotating equipment engineer is required to support maintenance, asset integrity, operations, with their daily activities, manage the concept/FEED/EPC design work for asset development projects carried out by Contractors and that are managed in-house, provide all asset related inputs to major project team with respect to rotating equipment.
- Key accountabilities include ensuring the efficient project implementation, proactive facility improvement and technical Integrity in conjunction with COMPANY Standards and Shell DEP for the IDD El Shargi’s surface facilities specific to rotating equipment.
**What you need to bring**
- Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas onshore / offshore industry that include a minimum of 7 years in facilities design (front-end, conceptual, and detailed design) and minimum of 2 years in project execution including construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance (including field troubleshooting).
- Well conversant with international codes and standards.
- Computer literacy
- Logic thinking and analytical skills.
- Good presentation, communication, and written skills. Interpersonal ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Aptitudes for taking initiatives.
