3-years diploma in relevant discipline of responsibility. i.e., Mechanical Diploma Engineering for Mechanical Planning, Electrical diploma Engineering for Electrical Planning and Instrument/Electronics diploma Engineering for Instrument and Automation planning.
Seven (7) Years of continuous experience in job planning activities mentioned in scope of work, and additional 5 (Five) Years of continuous experience in direct field/equipment/asset maintenance, in large scale Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer process industries.
(a) Proficiency in English language
- Read, Write, Speak.
(b) Effective communication
(c) Effective report writing
(d) Operation and effective use of MS Windows operating system, MS Office, ADOBE PDF & Asset/Equipment Management in ERP JDE or SAP.
(e) Interpretation of Engineering documents E.g., Isometrics, Plans, P&IDs, General arrangement (GA) drawings, Assembly, Manuals, Procedures, and datasheets etc.; as applicable for area of responsibility.

(a) Mechanical discipline: Rotating and static equipment etc.
(b) Electrical discipline: Motors, Generators, LV, MV & HV Switch gears and Power Transmission and Distribution (T&D) equipment/systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Uninterrupted Power Supply systems (UPS), Protection systems etc.
(c) Instrument and Automation discipline: Field devices - sensors, Final control devices, Logic solvers, Control systems, Safety Instrumented systems, Gas detection and mitigation systems etc.
(d) Workshop discipline: Service activities such as Welding, Machining, Pump and other rotating equipment services, Motor/Electrical device services, Instrument testing/Calibration/Service etc., Special equipment and tools services such as goods transportation within COMPANY, Lifting equipment, special tools etc.

Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)
Location: Site (Ras Laffan Industrial City), Qatar
Working Schedule: 6-days per week / 10 hours per day
Job Purpose:
The Lead Planner provides planning / scheduling expertise to the project team (based on assigned project areas) ensuring overall project schedule quality and integrity to support project execution. The Lead Planner will perform various EPC schedule analysis to determine potential area of concern and coordinate inputs for mitigation plan.
Key Accountabilities:
- Reports to the Delivery Manager (Direct Line) and Head of Planning (Indirect Line).
- Implement management and technical direction for all facets of the Planning / Scheduling function (schedule development, schedule risk, schedule analysis, schedule reporting, resources, productivity, schedule impact assessment, schedule management) by establishing a set of project control planning / schedule procedures, guidelines, and flow charts to suit project requirements and needs to support management decision making process.
- Coordinate input from PMT functions such as engineering, procurement, construction, completion / commissioning, interface etc to support EPC schedule validation. Perform all planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, analysis, and schedule recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure effective project planning / scheduling and Advanced Work packing processes are executed by the contractors and subcontractors’ organizations.
- Support the preparation of project controls Gates deliverables specially planning / scheduling deliverables in line with Company Project Management System.
- Review and ensure effective implementation and updating the EPC Project Planning /Scheduling procedure.
- Collect, consolidate, analyse, and report schedule trend and progress (productivity) to ensure overall project status is assessed and potential problem areas identified. Conduct schedule delay / impact analysis, review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources required to affect such plans.
- Implement project changes, ensure schedule impacts are assessed and reflected & considered; ensure incorporation of approved changes impact into overall schedule stewardship and reporting.
- Evaluate contractor’s performance in areas of project controls (planning / scheduling) assessing any discrepancies and reverting to contractor for clarifications/corrections. Identify and ensure appropriate planning systems, fully integrated and appropriate for the project.
- Review Contractor schedule and interact with PMT project area managers to address potential area of concern and provide planning / scheduling support to overcome the execution challenges

12 years’ experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry, with exposure in project controls specifically planning / scheduling management with 3 years supervisory experience.

Technical and Business Skills:
- Undertakes complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance for staff and internal customers. Is expected to handle all but the most complex problems and difficulties that might arise.

- Sets situations/issues in the context of the entire team and has an appreciation of the wider relationships with other people and organizations.
