The main duties of Planning Engineer the include, but are not limited to: - Takes a lead in preparing schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations as requested and checks and confirms that the correct scope of work is reflected on assigned schedules. - Providing detailed review, analysis and monitoring of the procurement and construction programs of the Contractor, Subcontractors and Utilities. - Working closely on a day to day basis with the planners of the contractor to monitor and/or amend the Contractor’s baseline program of Work; Reviews and assesses the work sequences with the total project plan. - Conducting independent site visits to evaluate the contractor’s site progress against his program and reporting to the Resident Engineer accordingly. - Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialties. - Reviews and approves invoice verification for payment based on cost-loaded schedules, as required. - Reviews schedule data, identifies and acquires information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines, specialties and/or projects.
**Requirements**:
- Maintaining records of monitoring of the program to enable input and support to the Resident Engineer and Senior Quantity Surveyor to evaluate any related Contractor claims and variations as considered necessary. - Develops specific project codes of accounts and work breakdown structures and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions for new work items assigned. - Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialties and identifies significant activities supporting inter
- discipline requirements and identifies critical path for discipline or specialty work activities. - Identifies, analyzes and monitors schedule deviations for assigned disciplines or specialties including subcontractor submittals and recommends corrective action/work-around solutions for project considerations. - Develops and writes the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports. - Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and presents the Critical Items Action Report.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in project planning, budgeting, cost phasing and control from the project initiation to close out phases, utilizing computer based systems (Primavera Project Management 'P6' & Primavera Contract Management 'Expedition'), within the framework of an integrated project services function for the effective management of a wide range of concurrent projects, to meet the business plan objectives.
- Completed at least one project in same role that is comparable in complexity and size to the project.
- Using latest version of Primavera Project Management (P6) and Primavera Web Scheduling software for monitoring and reviewing the baselines and updated project schedules and cost.
- Ensuring the use of standardized forms and reports of Ashghal which are available in Primavera Contract Management (Expedition); Reviewing contractor's work program submissions including all narratives and supporting information and provides analysis and findings.
- Verifying actual progress and comparing actual performances to original plans.
- Monitoring, adjusting, and updating the cost plan and cash flows accordingly and the consolidating of these results in monthly reports.
- Implements and maintains an Earned Value Management System on the project.
- Preform EOT Assessment and prepare recommendation reports.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management /P6 and Primavera Contract Management / Expedition) and cost Engineering.
- Minimum 14 years of experience of which should be in a similar role with an engineering consultancy, supervisor consultant or project management consultancy.
- Experience in infrastructure projects such as Roads, Drainage, Sewer, public works.
- Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field.
- Proficient PC skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Primavera Project
- Management /P6 and Primavera Contract Management / Expedition, and Power BI.
- Must have good command of English both written and spoken, good communication and presentation skills.
