We are seeking a skilled and motivatedProtection Engineer with hands-on expertise inPower System Protection, Testing, Commissioning, Operations, and Maintenance of control and relay panels, switchgears, and substation equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of protection relays, relay configuration, interlocks, and retrofitting works, along with proven experience in executing projects across various voltage levels.

The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills, technical accuracy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality performance while working on domestic and international projects.

• Review and analyze schematic drawings, prepare inputs for configuration, setting calculations, and relay commissioning.
• Performscheme checking and troubleshooting of control & relay (C&R) panels, switchyard panels, and HV/MV switchgears (ABB, Siemens, GE, Schneider).
• Configure and testprotection schemes such as Feeder, Busbar, Distance, Line Differential, Transformer Differential, and Motor Differential protections.
• Carry outtesting & commissioning of protection relays, switchyard operations, CB interlocks, ATS/MTS, capacitor bank relays, and power factor controllers.
• Perform relay retrofitting, cable scheduling, and relay card replacements.
• Coordinaterelay settings and protection schemes for substations; attend technical meetings and resolve client feedback.
• Integrate protection panels withSCADA systems .
• Lead site teams, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and project timelines.

Highly motivated, flexible in approach and with a proactive mindset.

Ability to work with large teams in a complex and multicultural environment. Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills

Fluent in written and spoken English.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Electrical Design Engineer with a UPDA Grade A certification to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. This role requires a deep understanding of international standards (BS, IEC, NEC) and local Gulf regulations, with the authority to approve and stamp design drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure projects, including but not limited to:
• Power Distribution Systems (LV/MV)
• Lighting Systems (Internal & External)
• Emergency Lighting and Power Systems (Generators, UPS)
• Fire Alarm Systems
• Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
• Low Current Systems (ICT, Security, Access Control, BMS)
• Prepare, review, and approve all electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and BOQs using software such as AutoCAD, Dialux, ETAP, and Revit MEP.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant international codes (BS, IEC, IEEE, NFPA), local authority regulations (QCDD, Ashghal, ADDC, DEWA, etc.), and client requirements.
• Liaise with local authorities for design submissions, approvals, and No Objection Certificates (NOCs), utilizing your UPDA Grade A certification to stamp and approve documents.
• Coordinate effectively with other disciplines (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical) to ensure integrated and clash-free design.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
• Review contractor submittals, material proposals, and method statements for technical compliance.
• Participate in client meetings and present design proposals and technical solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Mandatory: Valid UPDA (Urban Planning and Development Authority) Grade A certification from Qatar,.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of proven experience in electrical design engineering, with a significant portion within the Gulf region.
• In-depth experience with local authority regulations and approval processes (e.g., QCDD, Kahramaa, Dewa, ADDC).
• Proficiency in engineering software: AutoCAD (essential), Dialux/Relux (essential), ETAP or similar (highly desirable), Revit MEP (highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, IEC, BS, and NFPA standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
