**Your Commitment**

The primary role of the faculty members at the College of Computing and IT is to promote high-quality innovative teaching, applied research, and services. Besides, he/she should collaborate with the Head of Department, Dean, and the colleagues to achieve the college's mission, mentor junior colleagues, and teaching assistants, and support the department and the college with several administrative and academic services.

**Education and Experience Requirements**

Faculty members will be placed in the appropriate rank based on their education and experience. The broad criteria is provided below.

**Education**

PhD and a Master's degrees in Data Science and Cyber Security or closely related field from an internationally recognized university with an undergraduate degree from an accredited university.

**Qualifications**:
**For Assistant Professor**

**Experience**
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training or industry training environment, along with preferably 3 years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.
- A distinguished research record and international reputation evidenced by high quality publications in top tier journals.
- Excellent record of supervising high caliber research students.
- Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Professional Certification in Cyber Security.
- Diploma in Education (e.g. Post-secondary Education, Adult Education or Vocational Education) is preferred.
- 6+ years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.
- Teaching experience in post-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment.
- Experience in leadership and innovation in technology-based projects.

**For Associate Professor**

**Experience**
- A minimum of 8 years teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training or industry training environment, along with preferably 3 years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.
- A distinguished research record and international reputation evidenced by high quality publications in top tier journals.
- Excellent record of supervising high caliber research students.
- Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Professional Certification in Cyber Security.
- Diploma in Education (e.g. Post-secondary Education, Adult Education or Vocational Education) is preferred.
- 10+ years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.

**Other Required Skills**:

- A thorough knowledge and work experience in different areas of cyber security.
- Commitment to applied and experiential learning as a pedagogy and a key feature of UDST’s mandate.
- Ability to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments. These should incorporate contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context, and to develop the knowledge, skills, competences and attitudes identified in program outcomes.
- Digital literacy and demonstrated fluency in technology systems, and an ability to model and facilitate use of current and emerging digital tools to support research and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable students to be active participants in their own learning.

Summary
We are looking for incredibly talented Senior Backend Developers to join our development team here at Property Finder. As a company, we are very performance oriented and test the performance of all code and database queries, but we always ensure that this does not affect code quality and legibility. We take the time to refactor and rework code when necessary, but we always have the business goals in mind when doing this.

We expect our developers to be passionate about new technologies and think of creative ways that they could benefit our business. We want our developers to stay current with changes in technologies such as Go, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, and other AWS services like AWS Step Functions to build tailored solutions using cloud native technologies.

We are big proponents of Agile development methods with small cross-functional teams fully empowered to take an idea from inception and to be able to deliver it fully tested into production with minimal outside disruptions. Because of this you will need to be able to work well with others in your team and be able to contribute meaningful ideas on how to best achieve your objectives and key results.

Responsibilities
In a large tech department, divided in smaller teams, you'll be in charge of developing new features, as well as refactoring existing projects. You need to be able to write clean and scalable code. You'll need to be able to participate in brainstorming sessions and to bring your opinion and experience to the table.

Requirements
Very strong Object Oriented Programming and design pattern skills. Experience working with backend languages i.e., Java, C#, Python, Golang. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Very comfortable working with MySQL / DynamoDB, REST web services, Git / Github.

Preferred Requirements
Computer Science (or similar) education, Serverless Framework, Golang, ElasticSearch. Comfortable working with testing frameworks, Message Queuing / RabbitMQ, Memcached or Redis, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, AWS SQS/SNS.
