Overview

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to implement and oversee a quality management system (QMS) for operations and maintenance services provided by SOSi at Camp As Sayliyah in Doha, Qatar.


Essential Job Duties
  1. Establish quality objectives and key performance indicators in coordination with the Program Manager (PM) and Operations Manager (OM) to measure and monitor process performance and product/service quality.
  2. Design and execute quality assurance processes, procedures, and protocols to identify and mitigate risks, defects, and nonconformances.
  3. Perform scheduled and unscheduled quality inspections and audits to verify compliance with contract plans, applicable codes and standards, specifications, and other contractual requirements.
  4. Recommend, document, and ensure implementation of corrective/preventive actions and process improvements needed to ensure quality and safety.
  5. Elevate unresolved deficiencies in quality and safety to the PM, OM, Maintenance Inspector, or Safety Manager as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or business administration; OR
  2. 20 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  3. Professional certification such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ), Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C), ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems; OR
  4. 5+ years’ experience as a quality assurance manager or similar role.

Work Environment
  1. Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
  2. Long hours, exposure to harsh weather and other hazardous conditions.
  3. Position may require movement on short notice and under adverse conditions.
  4. Wearing task appropriate PPE is required.

Overview: We are looking to hire a QC Inspector for a oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar position, experience in GCC is desirable. Fluency in English is a must. Key Responsibilities: Implement the elements of the client’s management system applicable to your function

Ensure your safety and the safety of others who may be affected by the client’s business, whether the activity is under your direct control and proactively participate in all safety matters affecting the construction of the project

Prevent pollution to the environment, in the project

Co-ordinate the inspection and test requirements on behalf of the client

Undertake familiarization with Project and discipline-specific inspection documentation to ensure an understanding of the contract requirements

Familiar with international Codes, Standards and regularities (e.g. QCS, ACI, AISC, etc)

Implement quality inspection procedures on construction activities, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specification

Ensure that the documentation generated by the inspections, tests, surveillance and surveys meet the requirements of the Project Quality Plan, ITPs and project requirement

Complete relevant forms and prepare reports on inspections and tests undertaken for in, and maintenance of, inspection records

Communicating effectively with the contractor, third parties and end users at your level

Ensure that all equipment used for measuring and testing is in calibration and such records are available

Assist construction personnel in developing the required quality documentation, including method statements, work procedures, inspection and test plans and inspection and test records

Assist construction personnel to identify problems and potential or actual nonconformances and to assist in proposing corrective and preventive actions

Liaise with other Field Supervisors and Contractor to be aware of planned and completed construction works to ensure civil tests are planned and performed

Assist Quality Engineer to inspect and review quality documents about Concrete Casting, Steel fixing, Anchor bolts, Grouting, Steel Structure erection, Block works, Soil & Excavation and material-receiving activities

Monitor Contractor’s Concrete Casting, Steel fixing, Anchor bolts, Grouting, Steel Structure erection, Block works, Soil & Excavation and Material-Receiving Quality Procedures implementation and QA/QC activities

Ensure all civil activities are performed according to Project requirements and that tests and reports are prepared, approved and included in documentation packages

Witness Site & Laboratory Tests related to civil activities

Monitor that materials and equipment are used in accordance with specifications

Carry out random checks on receiving-inspection of certified batch plants, mixers, lifting gears, etc

Check delivery documents against purchase orders, specifications and material certificates

Reject any material not meeting specifications or not bearing an authentic material certificate

Carry out random dimensional checks on materials

Follow-up on Corrective Actions to close out non-conformances

Monitor trends of non-compliance to client requirements and feedback on the status of the Contractor’s performance

Initiate Surveillance/NCR’s for QC Engineer’s approval

Requirements: Civil/Structural/Architecture degree and/or diploma with experience in Quality Control in the multidiscipline construction environment

Preferably having formal training in QC and membership with recognized charted or other professional institution

10 years’ experience in a similar position, experience in GCC is desirable

Sound working knowledge of QC aspects and various testing requirements related to major Oil & Gas/Tank Farm/Pipeline/Petrochemical construction projects (related to the job)

Ability to work well with contractor’s personnel and colleagues at all levels in multidisciplinary, and multicultural environment
