Job Description
The Director Reporting & Accounting is responsible for the corporate financial reporting process, which includes preparing consolidated financial statements and quarterly reports for the board of directors and other stakeholders. S/He is responsible for reviewing the financial statements including balance sheets while adhering to GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles).
Responsibilities
- Lead the reporting and accounting team in the preparation of financial statements including balance sheet, income statements and cash flow statements and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and forecasts.
- Provide input on the financial implications of business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Consolidate financial statements across JV and Hotels business.
- Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets and maintain data integrity.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Implement and maintain efficient financial systems and procedures to optimize workflow.
- Monitor and conduct complex analysis of financial data and interpret financial actions basis the summarized financial data.
- Monitor accounting standards trends to ensure that financial reports are prepared in accordance with current requirements.
- Analyze business results and monitor the preparation of appropriate financial statements to describe the results.
- Provide leadership to establish and maintain effective measures over financial reporting processes.
- Review bank reconciliations and keep track of daily accounting records, ledger entries, and reconciliations.
- Liaise with the external auditors to prepare the annual audit plan and coordinate audit activities.
- Support the audit process by providing relevant organization’s financial records, any other relevant document that the auditors need and presenting the reports on the results of the audit including recommendations to the CFO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance - Preferably a Professional Qualification such as ACCA/CPA/ICAEW/ICWA.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Finance, preferably in the real estate sector with minimum 5 years in a similar role.
