Job Description
In this role, you will be part of a team primarily responsible for Aircraft Communications and Datalink of Qatar Airways Fleet. You will ensure the aircraft operations is conducted in a safe and economical manner satisfying all related regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
Additional responsibilities are as follows:
- Designing and programming of all aircraft AOC Databases/AMIs
- Implementation of Datalink projects, following up on worldwide Datalink and Surveillance mandates and serve as the point of contact with DSPs and Manufacturers
- Assisting in the design of QTR’s systems and the interface to the ground host
- Troubleshooting and investigating airborne and ground Datalink Systems’ issues and transmission failures as well as DSP Service Interruption follow-up
- Liaising and supporting Avionics Engineering in Datalink related matters, in addition to other related tasks.
- Assisting in achieving the department objectives and priorities to align with and support the Manager Aircraft Datalink & Communications.

Qualifications
**About You**:
To be successful in this role you must have the following:
- Bachelor of Engineering - Aeronautical / Aerospace / Mechanical or alternatively Electronic Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years Datalink Engineering experience within an airline operations environment.
- Knowledge of the following fundamentals is a must:
- ARINC Specifications
- Aircraft Avionics Systems (Boeing and Airbus)
- Ground Network Infrastructure
- End-to-End connectivity & Solutions
- Honeywell’s ATSU ART & AIRSIM (Classical Airbus)
- Honeywell’s GBST (B777 and B787)
- Collins Aerospace GSE Tool (A350 and A380) Collins Aerospace IMAC- Knowledge of the following fundamentals is a must:
- Hermes
- AircomServer
- Knowledgeable about Aircraft and Airline operations with satisfactory IT skills including Light programming.
- Excellent team player with strong communication, analytical skills and project management experience.
- Ability to deliver tasks within tight deadlines in a very dynamic environment

Job Description
Satellite Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor satellites in Geostationary and Non-Geostationary Orbits visible from the Space Radio Monitoring Center (SMC). This includes tracking the following parameters :
Orbital Position
Center Frequency
Generate and submit daily activity reports detailing monitoring investigations and share them with the Operational Lead.
Interference Investigation & Resolution
Plan and conduct investigations to geolocate interfering sources using :
Fixed Monitoring Stations
Terminal Auditing & Database Maintenance
Perform audits on all VSAT and other satellite terminals.
Maintain an accurate and updated database of all space terminals operating within Qatar.
Monitoring Center Operations
Draft operational guidelines for efficient functioning of the SMC Monitoring Center.
Coordinate and support the maintenance of a comprehensive frequency reference database.
Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders during ongoing monitoring operations at events.
Conduct fixed and mobile spectrum monitoring to ensure frequency users and licensees comply with :
National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP)
ITU Radio Regulations
Licensing conditions
Detect and investigate spectrum violations, including harmful interference, and recommend corrective measures.
Field Monitoring & Technical Operations
Operate portable monitoring tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers) to detect interference sources.
Execute data collection through drive tests and walk tests in accordance with the Network Audit Monitoring Plan.
Operate and verify data integrity using drive test tools.#J-18808-Ljbffr
