Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent the Company as Commissioning Team Leader for all assigned projects in offshore.
- Review and comment EPIC Contractor SOW pre-commissioning, commissioning and completion activates.
- Lead project pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up engineering support services rendered by outsourced contractors with the objective to ensure that all such activities are conducted as per Company regulations, project commissioning procedures and industry best practices.
- Reports to Head, Commissioning on all commissioning related matters under execution for successful completion of commissioning.
- Improve the company commissioning procedures, Initiate and contribute to the commissioning deliverables standardization.
- Develop Commissioning Strategy, Commissioning Plan and obtain approval for the same in consultation with End User and in accordance with Contract requirements and in close coordination with Head, Commissioning and EPIC Contractor.
- Leadership of the Commissioning Team in the development and arranges for approval of the commissioning procedures for all systems and facilities.
- Organize and ensure availability of the Commissioning Team and arranges the required manpower support from End User and Contractor.
- Develop planning of the commissioning activities and ensure its implementation as per the
- approved Commissioning Plan and project schedule.
- Detail the activities into required systems and subsystems to facilitate commissioning and start up.
- Develop and arrange for approval of all commissioning handover checklists and certificates and coordinate with Contractor/Vendors to solve system/equipment performance problems.
- Work closely with project Construction Team, End User and Contractor to coordinate punch listing activities from beginning to end of the commissioning process including clearance and close out.
- Frequent long working hours may be required which include out door field work.
- Exposed to multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment requiring special coordination and expediting skills. Sound inter-personal relationships and effective communication within the Company and Contractor Teams.
- Coordinate schedule for vendors presence/visits at site(s), on-job training to assist in the commissioning of critical equipment and processes.
- Participate and contribute to all safety design review and studies.
- Participate on FAT as of when required
- Review multidiscipline engineering deliverable from commissioning approaches.
- Support and assist project team in project closeout gate.
Qualification:
B. Sc (or) BE in Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University with extensive commissioning experience of Oil & Gas projects. Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution.

Experience required:

Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience and 5 years of decommissioning experience
- Demonstrable experience in oil and gas construction and decommissioning engineering throughout project lifecycle in particular Pre-FEED and FEED stage
- Offshore experience is essential
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both within and outside of the organisation and across different cultures.
- Wood presentation and report writing skills.
- Proven abilities in leadership, engaging, developing, and motivating teams in a challenging environment
- Able to make decisions and drive decision processes
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards with the ability to manage contractors

Wood has an opportunity for a Principal Construction Engineer to join our team in Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for driving success on projects ranging from $100 Million to $1 Billion by developing effective construction strategies and processes, reviewing and managing subcontractors, and working with both internal and external stakeholders.
This key role within the Wood Doha office involves delivering across study, FEED, and detailed engineering scopes of work. You will be responsible for executing construction engineering work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or project procedures, while maintaining safety and quality standards within the manhour, cost, and schedule targets.

Responsibilities
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality cultures, leading by example and ensuring procedures are followed.
- Execute projects according to corporate practices and project procedures.
- Act as the focal point for construction engineering services.
- Interface closely with client construction representatives to ensure client interests are accommodated.
- Define and communicate project objectives and organization to the project team.
- Document and review lessons learned from projects.
- Develop effective construction procedures, strategies, and HES plans supporting project goals.
- Support project execution and business goals through planning, recruitment, and management of construction scope during engineering and design phases.
- Assist proposal teams with cost and schedule estimates and collaborate with engineering, support groups, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Lead constructability reviews during pre-FEED and execution phases.
- Provide construction input throughout engineering phases.
- Develop construction and contracting strategies, installation sequencing, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Prepare project-specific site procedures and work practices.
- Support construction feasibility and method studies.
- Assist in developing project logistics strategies for heavy and out-of-gauge equipment.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering with at least 15 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in decommissioning.
- Experience in oil and gas construction and decommissioning engineering across project lifecycle, especially Pre-FEED and FEED stages.
