The Role
• Lead the structural design and analysis of buildings, infrastructure, and specialized structures using appropriate design software and standards. • Prepare and review detailed design calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports. • Ensure all designs comply with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), Ashghal standards, and relevant international codes (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocode). • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural solutions with overall project design. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters. • Conduct site visits, inspections, and support construction teams in resolving design-related issues. • Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, and feasibility studies. • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities as needed to obtain approvals and ensure design intent is maintained.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred). • Minimum 8–10 years of structural design experience, UPDA/MMUP Grade A or B certification • ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit). • Strong knowledge of concrete and steel structures, foundation systems, seismic and wind load design. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage. • Valid QID and transferable sponsorship preferred.

Structural Design Manager (Bridges)

Doha, Qatar

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Bridges Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead a team of bridge design engineers and digital delivery specialists engaging in major infrastructure projects in Qatar and the Gulf Region.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable.

• Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.

• Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.

• Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and recommends training and development for assigned personnel.

• Helps to define discipline design organization and participation on a project, including scope of work, design criteria, schedules, standards, and procedures.

• Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.

• Supervises the production of project drawings and design calculations.

• Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.

• Ensures that discipline design work is coordinated with project staff and engineers from other disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications.

• Minimum of 20 years of related work experience in prominent consultancy firms with specific experience in structural design.

• Substantial experience in design of transportation structures such as bridges and underpasses.

• Substantial experience in design of infrastructure-related buildings such as large scale tank / pump stations and substations.

• Intimate knowledge of structure design principles.

• Ability to perform detailed technical review of engineering deliverables including structural analysis models, design calculations, engineering drawings, and specifications.

• Excellent report writing skills to independently produce logical, well-organized, and grammatically correct technical reports and letters directed to clients and authorities.
