As the New Technology Product Development Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating & testing new technology solutions pertaining to In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC). This position will also be responsible for ideating & supporting the integration of digital solutions, applications, games, and other interactive elements within the airline ecosystem, from concept to deployment, ensuring seamless integration across various IFE systems and effective coordination among various stakeholders.

Some Of The Tasks Include The Following

Work closely with stakeholders in evaluating emerging IFEC technologies, platforms, and solutions to enhance the In-flight digital entertainment offerings. Translate the requirements into technical specifications, design and business/scope requirements Oversee the development/implementation process of digital solutions, including scoping, planning, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of the application. Ensuring compliance with safety, security, privacy, and other regulatory requirements are met. Organize sessions to establish UX, UI, back-end deliverables, ensuring delivery is in line with standards and expectations. Collaborate with other stakeholders from various business departments to ensure cross-project dependencies are managed effectively by identifying risks, issues and technical challenges. Proactively work with other business units within Finance, IT, Procurement and relevant business units to resolve impediments. Work with the Manager 'FEC Product Integration in defining business strategic direction on digital solutions, recommend and discuss innovations and tactics that promotes the business revenue and product portfolio, including e-commerce packages and other value-added components. Perform other department related duties as directed by Line Manager or Head of Department.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic professional to join the Product Development and Design.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a role involving product and hospitality service. Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, frameworks, integration teams and practical knowledge of project management tools. High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau & Power BI) Development of UI, Web and applications. Strong project management and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to articulate and influence senior stakeholders.

Your Role
Reporting to the President, the Director of Applied Research, Innovation, and Economic Development will oversee research initiatives relevant to industry, government, and society, supporting Qatar's social and economic growth.
Strategic Responsibilities
Assist in formulating UDST's strategic plan.
Lead the development and execution of the ARI & ED's business plan aligned with university strategy.
Manage research projects, innovation, and technology transfer initiatives.
Identify funding sources and develop strategies to secure research funding.
Operational Responsibilities
Foster relationships with government, industry, and community sectors to promote applied research.
Encourage student involvement in research activities to develop skills and workplace readiness.
Oversee research project administration, budgeting, and reporting.
Promote research achievements through seminars, publications, and media.
Coordinate research activities and manage research proposal vetting and funding allocation.
Liaise with funding agencies and develop industry partnerships to support research initiatives.
