Job Description
Responsible for managing Commissioning during preparation and execution stage of each wellhead platform to ensure objectives are safely met within the approved scope and schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all execution of electrical commissioning activities to achieve commissioning schedule on target with all safety requirements especially during SIMOPS
- Responsible for electrical commissioning activities offshore
- Lead execution for electrical commissioning at site (offshore and onshore) and keep commissioning execution committed to targets defined by the project management
- Supervise the contractor electrical commissioning activities making sure the commissioning methodology is respected, and the system database is used properly
- Accountable for readiness of the commissioning spare parts and special tools for electrical packages
- Manage system completion, walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for electrical systems
- Contribute to the development of commissioning documents, including procedures, method statements, and check sheets used during commissioning.
- Ensure the correct application of safety and cybersecurity procedures during electrical commissioning activities (1st energization, LOTO, PTW, JSA)
- Maintain a register of lessons learned for the offshore scope.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
- 8 years’ experience with large project in Oil and Gas industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
- Knowledge in compliance with contract requirements including codes and standards, and contract technical specification compliance.
- Knowledge in projects execution, engineering, operations, pre- commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
- Expert in reading P&IDs, Datasheets, General Arrangement drawings and procedures.
- Experience with vendors operating in the LNG industry, such as compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides, etc.
- Experiences for managing commissioning execution and performing OTs of all electrical systems such as UPS, normal and emergency power distribution, subsea cable and umbilical and transformers.
- Strong knowledge and experience of electrical systems, including LV and HV systems, power distribution board, control systems, protection relays and subsea power cable.
- Familiar with LOTO procedures and electrical codes and standards.
- Experience in handling EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors.
- Conversant with ATEX/IEC regulations.
- Experience in start-up support and handover to Operation.

The primary accountability is daily maintenance and upkeep of plant under responsibility and execution of maintenance jobs as per the plan.
The role holder will take a leading role in the execution of corrective, preventive, and predictive actions. The role holder will also be responsible for the safety & quality of maintenance work carried out in their area.
The role holder ensures identification of obsolescence and ensuring that the plant is technically up to date, also focus on management of change and projects related activities in their area and act as a link to the project team.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute and monitor daily maintenance activities of Electrical Field area of work.
- Keep the unforeseen shutdowns in plant to a minimum duration and effectively execute all the jobs in the shortest possible time.
- Execute corrective actions based on recommendations from relevant sections.
- Study frequent failures to recommend remedial actions.
- Ensure obsolescence identification and resolution of bad actors in consultation with OEMs.
- Supervise contractors and technicians to ensure continuous optimum operating condition of plant equipment and systems.
- Implement plans for periodic, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Use engineering principles to identify problem areas and refer complex issues to the Engineering team.
- Analyze equipment and system failures and determine remedial actions, especially in relation to protection and control systems.

- Analyze transformer health through tests such as oil BDV, DGA, turns ratio, and sweep analysis.
- Carry out periodic testing and review of electrical protection relays.
- Lead investigations related to failures of electrical protection systems and provide recommendations.
- Review protection scheme designs including differential protection for busbars and transformers, restricted earth fault, and line protection.
- Provide input for the development of plans and budgets related to electrical protection and test activities.
- Provide specifications for the procurement of spares, consumables, equipment, and services.
- Ensure that work permits and toolbox meetings are in compliance with safety procedures.
- Develop internal procedures and test protocols for equipment and protection systems.
- Keep informed of technological developments and participate in improvement projects.
- Motivate, develop, and appraise performance of employees under area of responsibility.
- Participate in the call duty to provide a full standby service outside working hours.

MEP PROJECT ENGINEER
The MEP Project Engineer will lead the effort in coordinating, scheduling, and managing the MEP trades and their associated Design consultants, authorities, and subcontractors. The MEP Project Engineer will work with the project team to ensure successful completion of all MEP trade work. The MEP Project Engineer reports directly to the Project Manager.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the performance and quality control of all MEP trades. This includes but is not limited to the following scope of work: Mechanical, Plumbing, Medical Air, Vac and Gas, Ductwork, Building Controls, Electrical, Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, Tele/Data, AV, Security, Site Utilities, and Fire Protection.
- Fluency and familiarity with all contract documents.
- Manage and lead MEP subcontractors from contract award through project closeout.
- Coordinate with Design Consultants & Authorities to ensure design requirements are complied with.
- Implement and manage MEP coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to the start of installations. May involve the use of AutoCAD & Revit.
- Prior to installation, review shop drawings and submittals for compliance and completeness.
- Participate in the cost review and change order process as it relates to the MEP trades. Assist the Project Manager as necessary in estimating change orders.
- Review all pay requests from MEP subcontractors and ensure that they are proper and timely.
- Provide scheduling input to the project team as it relates to the MEP trades.
- Coordinate onsite MEP activities, materials procurement, and other related activities with Project Manager, Construction Manager & Senior Engineers.
- Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed and requested.
- Troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of field installation issues.
- Attend weekly meetings with owners, architects, and subcontractors. Chair additional meetings with the MEP subcontractors as necessary.
- Coordinate the installation of owner-provided equipment as it relates to the MEP trades.
- Monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of the project with Engineer & Owner.
- Coordinate and manage the owner training process.
- Manage the closeout process for the MEP trades.
- Maintain good relationships with co-workers, vendors, subcontractors, owners, engineers, and architects.
Responsibilities
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Construction/MEP Coordination.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Strong grasp of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems.
- General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes as they relate to the construction of the project.
- Experienced dealing with MEP subcontracts and subcontractors.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Revit and AutoCAD skills are a plus.
- Desire to be a team player.
- Strong communication skills.
