Qualification and Experience Required:

• Minimum 6 years of related experience in Oil and Gas upstream industry.
• Degree level in accounting, Finance, engineering, or other business-related discipline (Professional certification is a plus).

Activities

• Assist the Senior Business Analyst to prepare annual budget and closure forecast for the departments he/she oversees, in close collaboration with the Managers of these departments - Assist the Senior Business Analyst during the Budget session presentations to Management.
• Prepares all necessary SAP entries and its support documentation for the closure including invoices, scheduled and manual accruals and cost allocations to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Collects, organizes, and validates information required to represent in the most accurate way the business reality of value of work done (physical and contractual advancement of works) and other critical information such as cost allocation drivers, in the company's books, according to relevant accounting standards, during the monthly closure cycles.
• Support the Senior Business Analyst to prepare monthly cost report providing a strong variance analysis compared to our Closure forecast and budget.
• Support the Senior Business Analyst to ensure costs control measures are maintained to monitor, review, and analyze projects from inception till completion.
• Have a strong understanding of all activities and scope under departments managed.
• Ensure to process all pending invoice and do not keep overdue invoices.
• Responsible for validation of PR / PO Raised by business verified against budget creation.
• Assist the Senior Business Analyst to maintain up-to-date analytical structures in line with agreed Cost Control principles.
• Promote a good P2P practice throughout the organization promoting no invoices received without PO and all approval of invoices in compliance with DOA.
• Comply with provisions of contracts, JVA and Delegation of Authority in the departments managed.
• Support the Senior Business Analyst to contributes to responses to audit queries and to resolution of audit exceptions

• Provide professional advice and guidance on financial, accounting, management accounting, tax, and related issues.

• Ensure that month-end, quarter-end, and year-end divisional activities are delivered following established guidelines and procedures, including taking the lead in addressing complex non-routine/adhoc activity providing recommendations and ensuring resolution where an expert Project Accounting response is required.
• Interface with internal and external clients to obtain complex and sensitive financial information and provide advice and guidance on commercial/shareholder agreements and construction of financial models to support billings, cash calls and budgeting activities.
• Coordinate with Asset Accounting and Venture Controlling to ensure that related activities (close outs and shareholder reporting) represent the true financial picture.
• Review and prepare internal and external Gross Cost/Operating reports and analyse direct and allocated project / operating cost and resolve any discrepancies that may be noted.
• Review and provide analysis required for monthly gross cost review with CFO and attend to actions from meetings as required.
• Update project summary reports such as green book, well-wise reports, Internal Order (IO) vs Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and cost tracker reconciliations. Review project cost, invoices, Service Entry Sheet (SES) for compliance with QG process and TOFA limits.

• Analyse inventory movements to provide meaningful explanations. Assist in closure of shareholder queries when required.
• Prepare and review project accruals and other accounting adjustment entries and prepare account reconciliations when necessary and address queries from venture control explaining significant variances against budget.
• Prepare cash forecasts to meet cash requirements. Manage timely preparation of funding/cash calls/billing statements for the projects including analysis of actual cash expenditures vs cash call to optimize cash balances.
• Develop WP&B inputs for all project and operating activities including headcount verification, expenditure phasing and validation with project plan. Compile Work Plan and Budget (WP&B) packs for management and provide meaningful analysis comparing pervious submission against current year WP&B.

• Bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Finance, Economic or Commercial discipline; or
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline and an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, CPA) .

• 5 years' accounting and finance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of SAP FI/CO. Experience and knowledge in BPC, BW and Projects System.
• Commitment to ensure organizational compliance with QG Financial Control Procedures.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Computer literacy, including the use of spreadsheets, databases, and graphics packages.
• Able to use common PC software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) as well as functional specific software (SAP), BW, BPC, Projects System.

• Prepare Work Program and Budget pack for Annual Budgets (CAPEX/OPEX/NON-ROUTINE) and ensure it is accurately mapped in SAP
• Prepare Budget Revisions/Supplementary Budget and ensure appropriate justification and supporting documentation is valid and enough
• Prepare AFEs with accuracy and ensure the requested AFE is following Policy and Procedures
• Ensure compliance with and implementation of approved Budget Control Procedures and Work Instructions
• Review reallocation journal/expenditure postings in SAP FI and advise proper allocation of AFE number and WBS Element
• Work in close coordination with the cost, planning & project team to ensure proper and timely recording of expenditure through Service Entry Sheets
• Provide solutions to the project team on budget issues and ensure invoices are processed and returned to Finance for payment within target dates
• Justify monthly and quarterly variance and ensure the reasons are valid and obtain mitigation measures from cost, planning & project team
• Review the project status, CWIP and Completion Certificates to ensure the capitalization process is in line with Policy and Procedures
• Participate in continuous improvement of budget control activities
• Capacity to prepare ad-hoc reports for specific budget and cost analyses when required
• Provide on-the-job coaching & development of staff

• A university/college degree in financial accounting or CPA, ACCA CGMA or equivalent
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in project cost budget control
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferable
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Performs routine duties independently and refers to Line Supervisors on non-routine work
• Working knowledge in SAP (e.g. PS, MM modules) is essential
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications and Database particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
