Activities:
HSE

Asset Register
- Along with the focal point from the General Accounting Team for all aspects related to the maintenance and update of Fixed Asset Register.
- Along with the focal, responsible for liaising with the technical functions and the Cost Controlling teams to obtain the needed data and update the same in SAP
- Assist the focal, in ensuring that the Asset Register is designed, updated and maintained per DFA/JVA and the shareholders requirements.
Contract Reporting
Support the Contract Reporting team, as and when required/in absence of personnel:
- Discuss and correspond with the General Tax Authority alongside the Senior Tax Accountant on tax matters that affect the company.
- Evaluate and suggest improvements on processes and controls to optimize compliance efficiency.
- Prepare and ensure the relevant reports are shared with GTA, alongside the Senior Tax Accountant for Contract Tax Reporting.
Withholding Taxes and Contract Retention
- Assist the Senior Tax Accountant in analysing transactions at invoice processing level as part of P2P process of the company, to assess the WHT implication and ensure that WHT is applied on transactions that are within the scope of WHT in accordance with the local law.
- Manage the issuance of Tax certificates in relation to tax withheld, including preparing the certificates, maintaining records of certificates that had been issued and downloading the Dhareeba issued certificates.
- Analyze transactions at invoice processing level to assess the Contract Retention implications and ensure that Contract Retention is applied on transactions that are within the scope of Contract Retention Rules as per the local laws.
VAT
- Assist and take the necessary steps with Senior Tax Accountant to keep updated on VAT implementation and related topics.
Internal Control
- Responsible for the performance of controls in relevant areas (contract tax reporting, etc.) to ensure the review of these controls are done in Compliance of the Internal Control Framework
- Confirm the performance of the internal control in e-services as a back-up to the Senior Tax Accountant.
Audit
- Assist the main focal point within the General Accounting team for liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure an efficient execution of their work in coordination with Compliance team.
Period End Related Tasks
- Responsible for preparing relevant Balance sheet Reconciliations.
- Responsible for compliance with the relevant internal controls related to the above activities.
Adhoc Tasks
- Any other tasks as requested by Fixed Asset Accountant and Lead, General Accounting.
