The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECEN) Program of Texas A&M University at Qatar invites applications for a full-time academic professional track (non-tenure) position in the area of computer engineering. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Instructional Assistant Professor or Instructional Associate Professor, depending on qualifications.

This non-tenure track position assumes a 9-month academic appointment with anticipated start date Summer or Fall 2024. The 9-month appointment includes a 3-3 teaching load during Fall-Spring semesters. The successful applicant will also be expected to teach two courses during the summer semester for an additional 3 months of salary. The applicant's primary responsibility will be teaching courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Candidates in all areas will be considered, but those in areas of computer engineering and programming are particularly encouraged to apply. This position assumes only teaching and service duties and does not assume research activities. Applicants who can offer new undergraduate courses such as App development for iOS and Android, programming of machine learning (AI) applications, and computer networks represent a plus.

The ECEN Program is fully committed to a culturally and academically diverse faculty. This position is in Doha and the successful candidate must relocate to Qatar.

Texas A&M University at Qatar offers competitive salary packages commensurate with rank and experience. Assistant Professor Experience• A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training or industry training environment, along with preferably 3 years of employment experience as an accountant or in a related field.• A distinguished research record and international reputation evidenced by high quality publications in leading journals. • Excellent record of supervising high caliber research students.• Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships within the profession and industry.Preferred Qualifications • Professional Certification (e.g., CMA, CPA or ACCA)• Diploma in Education (e.g. Post-secondary Education, Adult Education or Vocational Education) is preferred.• 6+ years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.• Teaching experience in post-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment.• Experience in leadership and innovation in technology-based projects.• Proficient in Power BI: Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Power BI to extract, transform, and visualize data from various sources.Able to create interactive dashboards, reports, and data models to provide actionable insights.
