Service Team Coordination:

Communication with Principal Companies:

  • Communicate with principals on technical information.
  • Communicate with principals on any customer queries that cannot be resolved internally.
  • Keep updated with the latest training schedules and training materials.
  • Attend all relevant webinars conducted by the principals.
  • Transfer new technical information received from the principal company internally to all concerned persons.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Medical Lab/Biotechnology or related science.
  • Experience: 2+ years experience in NGS and Bioinformatics.
  • Job Specific Skills: Strong hands-on experience with NGS workflows, including library preparation, sequencing, data analysis, and interpretation.
    • Able to perform sequencing runs across a variety of applications e.g., whole genome sequencing, RNA-Seq, exome sequencing, etc.
    • Experience working with NGS platforms (Illumina, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore, 10X genomics, etc.)

The Crickard laboratory is hiring a full-time postdoc as part of a project funded by the American Cancer Society. The project aims to investigate the etiology of Cancer development, focusing on how deregulation of DNA motor proteins contributes to this process. Significant experience in protein purification and biochemistry is necessary for this position. As part of the study, the candidate will receive training in single-molecule imaging. The applicant will also be expected to interact with graduate students in the laboratory and participate in collaborations with other groups, either at Cornell or elsewhere. Cornell boasts a high density of investigators working on DNA recombination, replication, and repair. This group of laboratories makes the Molecular Biology and Genetics department at Cornell an ideal place for postdoctoral training in the subject area. Long-term, the applicant will be expected to develop a project that can be used to establish their own research group. Salaries are set at NIH rates.

Anticipated Division of Time

  • 65% of the employee’s time will be spent doing bench laboratory experiments.
  • 15% of the employee's time will be spent analyzing and preparing data for presentation

Research Associate


Position Function

This position requires an experienced scientist to use a broad range of cellular, molecular, and functional genomic techniques in a wide array of marine invertebrate species to interrogate the evolution and development of novel traits. The successful candidate will be expected to develop protocols for using multiple ‘omic techniques (single cell transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.) and optimize new techniques for manipulating gene function in non-model organisms at different life stages. This position will also require the development and maintenance of transgenic animals that will be used to examine the evolution of cell identity within and across species.


Anticipated Division of Time

General Lab Research Activities: 70%

Animal Care/Husbandry: 15%

Training: 15%


Requirements

To qualify, applicants must have a Ph.D. and at least three years of demonstrated expertise in molecular biology, transgenesis, genome editing, and protein biochemistry as well as aquatic invertebrate animal husbandry. The ideal candidate will also have significant experience with genome-wide DNA and RNA sequencing and analysis techniques, marine animal husbandry, and embryological manipulations.


Supervision Exercised

Academic Job Description Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Research Associate

Position Function This position requires an experienced scientist to use a broad range of cellular, molecular, and functional genomic techniques in a wide array of marine invertebrate species to interrogate the evolution and development of novel traits. The successful candidate will be expected to develop protocols for using multiple ‘omic techniques (single cell transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.) and optimize new techniques for manipulating gene function in non-model organisms at different life stages. This position will also require the development and maintenance of transgenic animals that will be used to examine the evolution of cell identity within and across species.

Anticipated Division of Time General Lab Research Activities: 70% Animal Care/Husbandry: 15% Training: 15%

Requirements To qualify, applicants must have a Ph.D. and at least three years of demonstrated expertise in molecular biology, transgenesis, genome editing, and protein biochemistry as well as aquatic invertebrate animal husbandry. The ideal candidate will also have significant experience with genome-wide DNA and RNA sequencing and analysis techniques, marine animal husbandry, and embryological manipulations.

Supervision Exercised The applicant will provide frequent advice on complex issues related to research activities and provide training/instruction to undergraduates, graduate students, technicians and postdocs in the lab.

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY is seeking an exceptional tenure-track faculty member at the rank of assistant or associate professor whose area of research is focused on understanding the contributions of the tumor microenvironment (TME) to any major aspect of cancer biology , including but not limited to tumor initiation, survival, progression, metastasis, immunotherapy, drug resistance, and recurrence.

We are seeking a candidate who will apply innovative approaches to explore any aspect of the TME as it pertains to a variety of disease-relevant topics, including but not limited to early detection, DNA damage, metabolic rewiring, ECM remodeling, immunoregulation, angiogenesis, intravasation and extravasation, metastatic dormancy and outgrowth, response to therapies, precision medicine, and health disparities. Approaches used can include molecular genetics, epigenetics, functional multi-omics, computational biology, cutting-edge technologies for resolving spatial architecture, stem cell techniques, tissue engineering, state-of-the-art imaging, and animal models. Focus may be on tumor cells, non-tumor cells, and/or intercellular communication and interactions that affect disease state.

The position provides opportunity for 80% research, 15% teaching, and 5% service. The successful candidate will be joining a rich community of cancer biologists in the department and across the entire university.
