Job Description
• Inspect and repair wooden furniture (beds, tables, chairs, wardrobes, doors).
• Tighten loose joints, fix broken handles, hinges, or locks.
• Repair or replace damaged wooden panels, skirting boards, and moldings.
• Attend guest room maintenance calls related to carpentry issues (e.g., jammed doors, loose drawers).
• Ensure prompt and professional service to minimize guest inconvenience.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on wooden items in guest rooms and public areas.
• Ensure doors and wardrobes are well aligned and smoothly operable.
• Assist in the installation of new fixtures, fittings, and furniture.
• Cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials based on technical specifications.
• Modify or adjust furniture and partitions as per banquet and event requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintain carpentry tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep the carpentry workshop clean and organized.
• Coordinate with other engineering staff for multidisciplinary maintenance tasks.
• Log daily work completed and update job orders in the system or logbook .
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Education
• High School graduate or any equivalent vocational training certificate or possess Engineering related work experience
Experience
• 2-3 years previous experience in a similar role
Technical Skills
• Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights
• Proven experience as skilled carpenter
• Hands-on experience in working with various carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines always
• Good knowledge of English
• Basic math skills and good understanding of measurements
• Good physical condition and endurance

What you will be doing :
You'll be responsible for performing high-quality carpentry work, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of wooden structures, furniture, and fixtures throughout the hotel.
Design and build custom pieces tailored to our unique hotel spaces, from guest rooms to public areas, ensuring our design vision comes to life with precision.
Conduct regular inspections to identify wear and tear, fixing doors, windows, furniture, and more to ensure everything is in top shape for our guests.
Contribute to the overall guest experience by ensuring our woodwork and fixtures are not only beautiful but also safe, functional, and in pristine condition.

Qualifications
- Proven carpentry experience, ideally in a hotel or commercial setting.
- Skilled in using carpentry tools.

- Ability to lift heavy materials and follow safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; carpentry training or apprenticeship preferred.

Job Description
Execute all carpentry and associated work to the highest professional standards.
Constructing and repairing of structures made of wood, plywood and other materials.
Maintaining wooden fixtures, furniture, and structures throughout the hotel such as doors, windows, cabinets, shelves, counters, and decorative
Working experience working with a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment, such as saws, drills, routers, sanders, planers, and chisels, and the ability to use them safely and effectively.
Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot issues related to wooden structures, fixtures, and furnishings, and develop effective solutions to address them efficiently.
Collaborating with other department team members such as Housekeeping, Front Office, etc, while prioritizing work orders, and ensure timely completion of requests.
Qualifications
Previous work experience as a Carpenter in a hotel environment.
Proficient in various woodworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing wood to create functional and aesthetically pleasing structures and furnishings.
Knowledgeable of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards relevant to carpentry work to ensure compliance and safety in all projects.
