As the Civil Structural Engineer , you will provide engineering services in support of the design, construction, operation, and lifecycle maintenance, contributing to major facility improvements and renovations. You will support facilities planning, programming, design, construction, and equipment installation for project facilities and infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs, and water/sewer designs based on local utilities and facility load and use.
- Conduct engineering analysis and design for projects from concept to final design and construction management, adhering to applicable codes and standards.
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.
- Monitor and review host nation funded project development work for new construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
- Develop project calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications supporting project objectives.
- Review conceptual studies and sketches for project features, materials, equipment, and specifications.
- Coordinate with AFCENT TSG, operations personnel, and other U.S. Government entities to ensure safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability.
- Monitor project phases, maintain current engineering data, and review specifications and schedules.
- Verify construction compliance and assist with resolving differences between U.S. and Host Nation building codes.
- Use engineering software including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, GIS, and project tracking tools to solve problems and facilitate work.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Four or more years of civil/structural engineering experience on a U.S. Government/Military installation.
- Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:
Professional Engineer (PE) desirable.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems and building codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2012 or later) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Willingness to travel between ADAB TSG and AUAB TSG sites up to 4 times per year.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active Secret required.
