Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network/Systems Engineer to Design, Develop, and Implement Diverse Wide Area Networking Environments. Develop and implement QoS for a voice/video/data network environment. Use network/application performance management tools to troubleshoot, analyze, test, and provide recommended solutions for performance problems. Develops and generates conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures, resulting in documents and drawings, testing analyses, test plans, and risk assessments to ensure sound architecture. Provide operational support services for WAN and LAN technologies. Plans network layouts and configure systems to user environments. This position will be located on a military installation in Doha, Qatar, and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities

Gathers information concerning the capabilities of Company products; investigates the technical capabilities of Company products and competing equipment and/or solutions; stays abreast of developments in hardware and software. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning, and design, and ensures requirements comply through formal verification methods. Translates high-level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates the development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the network and system development. Designs interface and bring network and system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelors with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) (Routing and Switching) certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ Plus Certification
  • 3+ years of Cisco Routing and Switching experience; demonstrated technical proficiency in LAN, WAN, Network Management, and Security. Knowledge of DHCP, DNS,
  • Demonstrated ability to handle several projects simultaneously
  • Must have a strong, proven background with senior-level experience with Cisco Routing and Switching
  • Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, and ability to write clear, concise project reports
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function with minimal instruction or supervision, or as a part of a larger team reporting to formal project management. Strong communication and organizational skills
