Duration: 1 year - extendable based on project requirement - Contract Hire (contracted through MPH to work for the company)
Location: Doha - Qatar
Proposed hourly rate: Competitive
Please note that for office based, Accommodation & Transportation, Meals will be at your own cost as salary is paid as All Inclusive monthly salary. Accommodation & Transport is NOT provided by client or MPH

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a reputed University - Minimum 15+ years' experience.
- Vast experience in construction engineering, with significant exposure to both onshore and offshore projects
- Proven experience working in an Engineering design office environment supporting all engineering phases.
- Strong understanding of constructability principles and ability to translate design into executable field strategies.

- Familiarity with developing Level 4 CWPs and utilisation of construction planning tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Principal Construction Engineer will be responsible for:

Experience:

This key role within the Wood Doha office involves delivering across study, FEED, and detailed engineering scopes of work. You will be responsible for executing construction engineering work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or project procedures, while maintaining safety and quality standards within the manhour, cost, and schedule targets.

Responsibilities
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality cultures, leading by example and ensuring procedures are followed.
- Execute projects according to corporate practices and project procedures.
- Act as the focal point for construction engineering services.
- Interface closely with client construction representatives to ensure client interests are accommodated.
- Define and communicate project objectives and organization to the project team.
- Document and review lessons learned from projects.
- Develop effective construction procedures, strategies, and HES plans supporting project goals.
- Support project execution and business goals through planning, recruitment, and management of construction scope during engineering and design phases.
- Assist proposal teams with cost and schedule estimates and collaborate with engineering, support groups, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Lead constructability reviews during pre-FEED and execution phases.
- Provide construction input throughout engineering phases.
- Develop construction and contracting strategies, installation sequencing, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Prepare project-specific site procedures and work practices.
- Support construction feasibility and method studies.
- Assist in developing project logistics strategies for heavy and out-of-gauge equipment.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering with at least 15 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in decommissioning.
- Experience in oil and gas construction and decommissioning engineering across project lifecycle, especially Pre-FEED and FEED stages.
- Offshore experience is essential.
- Effective communication skills across different levels and cultures.
- Strong presentation and report writing skills.
- Proven leadership, team development, and motivation abilities in challenging environments.
- Decision-making capabilities.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, standards, and contractor management.
