As the **Construction Inspector** you must have experience in all aspects of building construction, to include electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural. Will monitor, inspect, document and advise on construction projects as needed**.**
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:
- Monitor, inspect, document, and advise on projects as required.
- Visit’s construction sites daily.
- Attend the weekly construction meetings with the specific projects to ensure the US government is informed of the most up to date information. Attend project specific meetings on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and submit reports of project status and progress weekly to the SM and COR.
- Update project data from all active construction projects in an integrated master schedule at least weekly.
- Verifies measurements, construction adequacy, and work being completed IAW the plans and specifications. In addition to the site visits, this discipline shall
- Read, interpret, and decipher all construction documents (schedules, specifications, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and related documents)
- Analyze procedures to identify deficiencies, monitor project phasing and ensure adherence to approved safety standards.
- Observe and inspect ongoing construction work, oversee construction record keeping activities, recommend change orders,
- Review proposed change orders submitted by construction Contractors, prepare and submit reports, and keep a daily log of all activities, weather conditions and work quantities.
- Ensure that all construction is performed IAW the applicable statement of work and Government-approved construction documents; review shop drawings and product submittals in a timely and accurate manner.
- Notify the Government of non-compliance with construction SOW and/or Government-approved construction documents within twenty-four (24) hours of inspection and provide inspection reports detailing the non-compliance.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:
- 10 Years of Experience in Construction Field/Inspection
- Associates Degree in Construction Management, or 15 Years of Experience in Construction Field
- Must have experience in civil/structural projects
- Be versed in the International Building Code, NFPA Fire Codes and the NEC in addition to general construction practices
**LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS**:
- ACI Concrete Testing Certification

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise the EPIC Contractors during the execution of construction activities at construction site.
Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, material requisitions, and etc.
Co-ordinate mobilization and de-mobilization of contractors on site.
Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections, material submissions and working drawings from contractors, and processing documentation as required.
Carryout daily checks on contractor’s staff and work carried out during the previous day in order to ensure compliance with prescribed contractual specifications.
Handle all aspects of Electrical/Instrument Construction activities including site investigations, site surveys and etc.
Supervise and manage installation Earthing and Lightning Protection works.
Supervise installation of Lighting and Small Power works. Manage and supervise cable tray installation and Fire Alarm System cable laying and termination works.
Co-ordination of finalizing Cable entries, cable routes, cable diversions etc.
Manage and supervise cable tray installation and Instrument Control & Power Cable laying and termination works.
Supervise Fiber Optic cable installation and splicing works.
Supervise installation of Fire Alarm Control Panels, Repeater Panels and Mimic Panels.
Supervise installation of Control junction boxes and Panels.
Good knowledge in reading and understanding Equipment Layout drawings.
Overall coordination with Mechanical works, HVAC works, Fire alarm & Loss prevention system works, Building Services works and etc.
Cable termination and Loop checking.
Co-ordinate pre-commissioning activities and assist during commissioning of facilities.
Initiate Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCC), Hand Over Certificate (HOC), Acceptance Certificate (AC), and facilitate the issuance of Project Completion & Discharge Certificates.
Witness SAT pre commissioning activities for equipment.
Maintain a daily record of progress (daily diary) noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
Sign work permits on behalf of client and to ensure that contractor’s compliance with work permits.
Participate in development of as-built drawings/documentation.
Prepare Punch list for finished work prior to hand over to client by contractor by paying special attention to all EHV equipment including Quality checks.
Works closely with other client Construction Supervisors (Mech / Elec).
Report to client Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at site, progress reporting, trends and recommendation for improvement.
Accountable for supervising contractor’s work that is in progress, inspecting work, reporting problems and preventing accidents occurring as a result of negligence, by enforcing client safety standards on the work site.
Liaise and report with the QC Inspector on quality related matters.
Liaise with the HSE Supervisor on safety related matters.
Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with project quality plans and inspection & test plans (ITPs).
Co-ordinate with concerned and End User parties to resolve site issues and refer technical queries to senior construction supervisor and project engineer.
Review contractors’ construction plans and schedules including method statements and JSAs.
