Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Risk Assessment and Management:
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments during both the design and execution phases of a project.
  • Identify potential hazards related to working at heights, heavy machinery, electrical systems, hazardous substances, and other construction-specific risks.
  • Develop and implement control measures and mitigation strategies to eliminate or reduce identified risks.
  • Policy and Procedure Development:
  • Develop, review, and update health and safety plans (HSP) and safety files (HSF).
  • Formulate and enforce site-specific safety policies, procedures, and safe operational guidelines.
  • Ensure all practices comply with national legislation, international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO), and company policies.
  • On-Site Audits and Inspections:

  • Training and Communication:

  • Lead and participate in regular H&S meetings to discuss performance, issues, and improvement plans.
  • Incident Management:

  • Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate safety alerts to prevent future occurrences.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all HSE activities, including inspections, audits, training sessions, and incidents.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on HSE performance indicators to the project owner and management.
  • Contribute to the development of continuous improvement plans based on data analysis and performance trends.
  • Collaboration and Advisory:
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to integrate safety into all stages of the project.
  • Provide expert, impartial advice and guidance to all stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Act as a primary liaison with regulatory authorities and external partners regarding safety compliance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Auditor :
     Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications:
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) certificates (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma), or IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) qualifications are highly desirable and often mandatory.
  • Other relevant certifications like First Aid and CPR are often required.

About the Role
