Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Corporate Lawyer located in Lusail - Qatar. The Corporate Lawyer will be responsible for providing legal advice and services to the firm's business clients. Day-to-day tasks include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, handling corporate governance matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing mergers and acquisitions, and representing clients in legal proceedings. The role also involves conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and collaborating with other attorneys and legal support staff.
Qualifications:
Law degree (LLB) or Master of Laws (LL.M) is a plus
Minimum 10 years of relevant corporate legal experience in Qatar
Bilingual: Fluent in English and Arabic (written & spoken)
Expertise in Corporate Law, Contract Law, and Trade Law
Strong skills in Legal Research, Drafting, and Document Preparation
Effective Negotiation and Representation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team

Based in Doha within the Middle East Business Unit and reporting to the General Counsel of SPIE Global Services Energy in France, the Regional Lawyer will be the head of all legal matters (corporate, contracts, legal affairs and compliance) in the area. The Regional Lawyer's main responsibilities will be:
1. For Corporate/Disputes Matters
- Providing legal secretarial services to SPIE Global Services Energy companies in the Middle East and Asia, including drafting agendas and minutes, approving financial statements, granting mandates/delegations of authority, incorporation of various companies, transfers of shares, and subsequent formalities, etc.;
- Participating in the execution of extraordinary transactions (mergers, restructurings such as share transfers, etc.);
- Reviewing, drafting, and monitoring all types of corporate contracts and various documents;
- Actively participate in the processing and resolution of corporate legal issues encountered by SPIE Global Services Energy in the Middle East and Asia, and work daily to secure the contractual commitments of Group companies and prevent legal risks;
- Contribute to the analysis and monitoring of pre-litigation, litigation, and/or transactional procedures;
Participate in the drafting of commercial leases (initial leases, amendments, etc.);
- Contribute to risk analysis in the context of contractual arrangements or growth or restructuring operations (participation in audits, etc.);
-Update contractual documentation;
- Contribute to supporting operational staff to advise them on legal issues encountered;
2. Contracts
Review, draft, and qualify a wide variety of contracts (MOUs, confidentiality agreements, partnership agreements, service contracts, operations and maintenance contracts, turnkey projects) and participate in their negotiations;
- Review and negotiate bank and parent company guarantees;
- Prepare legal documentation for responses to calls for tenders;
- Participate in the risk review process by identifying legal and contractual risks and providing support to avoid or mitigate these risks, proposing innovative solutions to mitigate them;

With a postgraduate legal degree (Bac +5) in Business Law and Corporate Law, you have at least 7 years of experience in a senior position in a firm or in-house company. You are willing to take in charge all the legal affairs of an entire region.
English is required for this position.
You demonstrate analytical and synthesis skills and are recognized for your writing skills.
