What You’ll Own

  • Vision & Pillars : Define the creative north star for tone, theme and setting and keep every feature aligned to it.
  • Game Direction : Co-own the product strategy with Production—prioritize features, cut ruthlessly, and protect fun. You advocate on behalf of the player.
  • Quality Bar : Establish the design bible; run regular critiques, playtests, and gate reviews.
  • Team Leadership : Manage, mentor, and grow designers, writers, artists, and audio; set goals, feedback loops, and career paths.
  • Player & Market Insight : Blend qualitative playtests with telemetry and market comparisons to steer decisions without losing the studio’s voice.
  • Cultural Authenticity : Work with cultural consultants to represent MENA folklore respectfully and make it accessible to global audiences.
  • External Partners : Guide briefs for outsourcing, trailers, key art, VO, and music; collaborate with publishing/marketing on positioning.
  • Risk & Scope : Identify creative/production risks early; propose mitigation plans and data-informed trade-offs.

What Success Looks Like (12–18 months)

  • A greenlit Creative Brief with clear pillars and success metrics.
  • A vertical slice that validates the core loop and art direction against agreed KPIs (e.g., fun score, wishlists, retention in playtests).

Required Experience

  • Familiarity with MENA cultures/languages.
  • 10+ years in game development with 2+ shipped titles (at least one on PC/console).
  • Held a leading creative role with hands-on responsibilities on at least one shipped game.
  • Proven track record leading cross-disciplinary teams and small indie environments.
  • Strong command of one or more engines (Unreal or Unity), plus practical literacy in art pipelines, level design, narrative tools, and UX.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance vision with feasibility; you know when to push the vision.
  • Portfolio/reel showing world-building, systems/narrative integration, and shipped quality.

Nice to Have

  • Background working with stylized/hand-painted art pipelines.
  • Experience collaborating with publishers and marketing on trailers, beats, and platform showcases.

As Creative Design Manager, you will be responsible for developing cohesive and impactful design solutions that enhances the customer experience and creatively strengthen Qatar Airways brand image. These shall cover areas such as cabin interiors, uniforms look and feel, lounges, onboard dining and amenities, user interfaces. You will work with cross-functional teams, key stakeholders within the airline and suppliers to understand the requirements and convert these to effective design solutions.

**Other key responsibilities are**:

- Creating cohesive and impactful design aesthetic designs required as per project requirements based on departmental and HOD directives.
- Understand and evaluate critical operational impacts and functionality of the product to develop product specification and design brief documents.
- Use cultural insights, operational data and stakeholder feedback to develop viable design solutions
- Assess budgetary allocations on projects handled
- Manage dedicated design project developments from conception to completion with mandatory product testing phases with the user departments prior to implementation. This includes but is not limited to; Cabin interiors, uniforms look and feel, lounges, onboard dining and amenities, user interfaces, etc.
- Manage special project plans and create best practice design processes to ensure cohesive and sound work practices that drives creativity whilst minimising development and production cost including responsibility for the final quality of creative work, seeking approvals from relevant departments prior to roll-out of the developed product.
- Work with assigned designer allocated by Line Manager on project basis
- Ensure positive collaboration to smooth out production hurdles by staying in close contact with internal clients’ teams.
- Develop product specifications for special projects to verify that the development during pre-production is at as per defined quality.
- Support and the design team as needed in the evaluation and testing of products in order to assess product feasibility and practicality.
- Support in tender document preparation by reviewing, verifying and updating the specifications and other relevant documents
- Conducts necessary cost analysis and / or business case based on design proposals as needed
- Conduct all the necessary quality check on final artwork before release to suppliers
- Able to do design / other relevant work task as needed to support operations
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Product Development and Design Team.

Essential:

- Minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree or equivalent is essential.
- 7+ years of design of Product Development or similar field with emphasis on Customer Services within Product or Service development.
- Advanced ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
