Position Overview :
The Head of Clinical Data Management is responsible for accurate abstraction, coding, and long-term follow-up of oncology-related clinical data, supporting cancer surveillance, research, quality improvement, and planning through meticulous data collection and analysis.
Key Responsibilities :
- Abstract clinical and demographic data from medical records into specialized software, including patient history, diagnostics, treatments, outcomes, and follow-up
- Perform re-abstracting and case-finding for research or administrative projects
- Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using systems like ICD-O, SEER, AJCC, and FORDS
- Review data entries for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, following up on missing or unclear information
- Conduct lifetime follow-up on patients to track disease progression, treatment outcomes, and survival
- Maintain comprehensive summaries of clinical histories, treatment journeys, and patient outcomes for reporting
