- Change impact analysis - Evaluate the effects of suggested modifications on database performance, availability, dependencies, and data integrity.
- Communication - Notify the appropriate teams, including application developers, infrastructure personnel, DevOps, and business units. Attend Change Advisory Board meetings for approval, if necessary.
- Change Testing - Conduct comprehensive unit, integration, and performance testing. Record all test outcomes and revise the change ticket as necessary.
- Change deployment - Implement the modification within a sanctioned maintenance period. Continuously observe logs and system performance in real-time throughout and following the deployment.
- Rollback procedure - Establish and evaluate a well-defined rollback strategy in the event of a failure and ensure that backups or snapshots are created prior to implementing any changes.
