**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**INFECTION CONTROL - STERILIZATION - HEALTH HAZARD**
- Prepares treatment room and patients for dental work.
- Follow safety procedures and minimize risks associated with the use of x-ray machines. Takes diagnostic 2D X-rays and 3D imaging and intra-oral X-rays.
- Be fully knowledgeable about sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials and assisting with dental procedures.
- Know how to use sterilization machines.
- Make sure that instruments that have gone through sterilization process are clean, that the pouches are signed and stamped by the nurse that sterilized the instruments. If not signed or stamped, do not use the instruments and report to the Head Nurse.
**MATERIALS - EQUIPMENT - LAB WORK**
- Continuously updates the clinic inventory every month and makes sure that no expired items are used inside the premises.
- Maintain dental supplies and inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level anticipating needed supplies, inform Admin Assistant supplies that must be ordered.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Takes care of dental equipment before and after use.
- Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturers instruction, maintain dental equipment inventories. Inform the head nurse of equipment that requires repairs for further action.
- If lab work is needed, fill in the Dentistry Laboratory form with all the information.
- Follow up on completed lab work and once the work is finished, communicate with the reception so an appointment can be set up with the patient.
**PATIENT CARE**
- Collect patients at the reception and welcomes patients. Always position yourself in front of the patient so they can follow you to the appropriate clinic and get them situated.
- Performs patient charting as instructed by the dentist, to manage the following appointment and care needed for the patient and convey it to reception for further action.
- Make sure that X-rays taken are also added to the OpenDental software in the patient’s file.
- Make sure that a treatment plan has been set up for each patient that needs treatment, even for fillings. (If only scaling and polishing is needed, no treatment plan is required).
- Provides patients and parents with information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs especially with fixed braces patients.
- Provides chair-side assistance to general practitioner and ensures that patients are well-informed about procedures and aftercare.
- Take the patient to the reception area at the end of the appointment.
- Give the receptionist the information pertaining to the treatment provided that day, so that the reception can load the charges to the patient’s account.
- Give the reception the information pertaining to the follow-up appointment.
**GENERAL TASKS - CPD - LICENSE**
- Assists dentists in managing dental and medical emergencies when necessary.
- Always ensures patient safety.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, webinars, and conferences.
- Maintains truthfulness and honesty in the work.
- Respects work dress and appearance as per company’s policy
- Respects the company’s systems and protocols.
- Prohibits the frequent use of mobile phones for personal use or if not related to work.
- Ensures respectful communication with colleagues, suppliers, and other departments.

**SCHEDULES - TIMING**
