Our client is a major property real estate development firm, part of a major Saudi conglomerate holding firm, and is about to commence four new residential towers in Qatar. They now seek a Technical / Design Manager who can work with the delivery team to drive consultants and contractors to deliver documentation to a firm schedule. In this role, you will act as the client's representative to ensure management of the client's risk and financial returns across a mega 8 tower project that is residential high rise in content.
Reporting to the Project Director and as part of the site delivery team, the responsibilities of this role comprise:
- Management of the design and submittal process while maintaining the vision of the delivery process, including coordination of the contractors' shop drawings and material submittals.
- Management of the consultant team to ensure quick turnaround and return to contractors, as well as diligence in their reviews.
- Establishing and managing all tracking, reporting, and scheduling systems that demonstrate an efficient client team processing of information to prevent delay claims.
- Coordination of RFI's and design clarifications to ensure what is constructed aligns technically and aesthetically with the client's vision.
- Liaison with Regulatory Authorities to achieve master developer approvals for key submittals.
The attributes we seek include:
- Degree qualification in architecture plus 10 years proven design experience on building projects, with high rise residential or complex projects being highly desirable. At least 2 years GCC regional experience is required.
- Solid attention to detail as well as team orientation.
- Strong leadership abilities with high levels of energy and drive to progress design vision, while being flexible to ensure solutions are achieved.
- Good breadth of knowledge of many disciplines to ensure a lateral vision to design.
- Superior communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive work environment is critical to this role.
