This role is essential for ensuring that aircraft are protected from environmental elements and have a visually appealing and professional finish. If you have an eye for detail and a passion for precision work, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by cleaning, masking, and sanding areas to remove old paint or contaminants Apply primers, base coats, and topcoats according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications Use spray painting equipment to ensure even and accurate application of paint to aircraft surfaces Follow precise instructions and blueprints to create custom designs, logos, or lettering on aircraft Inspect painted surfaces for quality, ensuring proper thickness, gloss, and uniformity of color Repair and touch up paintwork as necessary, ensuring aircraft meet regulatory and aesthetic standards Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working order Comply with safety regulations, using appropriate protective gear and ensuring the workspace is safe and clean Record and document all work performed, including materials used and procedures followed Work with other maintenance team members to ensure the aircraft is ready for delivery on schedule Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding the use of chemicals and hazardous materials Assist in the development of painting schedules and timelines, ensuring that projects are completed on time
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Aircraft Painter or in a related role (e.g., automotive or industrial painting) Familiarity with aircraft painting techniques, materials, and procedures Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Skilled in the use of spray guns, sanders, buffers, and other painting equipment Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality finishes Knowledge of safety protocols related to handling hazardous chemicals and materials Physical stamina and dexterity to work in confined spaces or at heights Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with other technicians and engineers Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with a variety of aircraft types (commercial, military, private jets, etc.) Familiarity with corrosion prevention and metal treatment processes Knowledge of environmentally safe painting products and techniques Ability to apply complex custom designs, logos, or branding Certification in aircraft painting or a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory depending on experience) Knowledge of relevant aviation regulatory standards (such as FAA or EASA guidelines) concerning painting and surface finishing Training in the safe handling of hazardous materials (e.g., OSHA, WHMIS certification)

About The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the team that shapes the creative vision and product strategy leveraging cross-industry trends such as automotive, consumer electronics, and hospitality environment whilst ensuring compliance with QA standards and project requirements. You will also be responsible for developing and managing portfolio of products and services and ensure that they drive and execute the QR vision into tangible and implementable hard product design concepts across Qatar Airways in service and new fleet from layout, galleys, lavatories, seating, storage etc.
As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:
Strategic
- Manage all customer facing cabin interiors products and onboard features for new and existing aircraft, as well as updates to the current onboard interiors products.
- Support the development and implementation of interior product plan across all aircraft programs to enhance passenger comfort, aesthetics and brand identity
- Assist in defining interior features, branding, lighting and specifications meeting high quality and comfort standards.
- Use insights from top automotive and consumer brands maintain leadership in cabin design.
- Work closely with external industrial design studios to conceptualize and evolve future cabin design languages.
- Collaborate with Product Development, R&D teams from seating, lighting, interiors and materials suppliers within aviation industry and those with automotive or high-end consumer experience.
- Translate design briefs into visual experiences, concept directions, and compelling narratives for stakeholder alignment.
- Manage various aircraft projects amongst the team to ensure full representation from Product Development in order to ensure that project timelines are not compromised.
- Attend and actively participate in all aircraft interior program related milestone meetings with the OEM’s, these meetings would cover all meetings starting with a kick off meeting/ITCM’s and then finally ending with a final product inspection/FAI or cabin walk.
- Represent Product Development & Design (PDD) department and be the ‘voice of the customer’ at these meetings in order to ensure that interior design aspects fully meet customer expectations upholding the brand image of the company
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare signature design features for Qatar Airways aircraft interiors based on QR brand, best practice, market trends, creativity and innovation to deliver product of a world class standard with special focus on Brand and image management.
- Review, plan and support interiors development projects conferring with internal departments the scope of work, efficiency, aircraft operation and related production factors. This entails very close coordination with the Technical Aircraft Programs team who manage the overall aircraft program and all meeting milestones.
- Plan and implement aircraft cabin designs such as floor plans, seating arrangements, color combinations, space arrangements, fit-outs and coordinate in the development of galleys, lavatories and seating with all stakeholders to ensure the relevant needs of the support teams are met.
- Provide updates specifically on usage of space within aircraft cabins, inspection reports and surveys of specific aircraft in relation to layouts, design and CMF, preparing detailed schedules for all projects assigned, carrying out research to ensure that plans are technically feasible, liaising with operational teams to validate the feasibility and viability of projects and choosing appropriate materials for the design by maintaining budgetary requirements.
- Advising the Line Manager on progress, deliver overviews of projects complete with presentations and reference samples to facilitate decision making process.
- Managing a library of materials, ICS, fabrics, images, drawings, presentations, reference samples for each aircraft programme that are both communicated to Senior Management in a timely manner as well as archived for future requirements
- Managing the research and sampling of material such as fabrics, flooring, wall finishes, textures and aesthetics.
- Designing professional product specifications and providing samples layout styles or products to the Line Manager for review.
- Interprets, re-thinks and re-designs customer needs as outlined in creative briefs by translating them into compelling visual product designs.

**Job Summary**
The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
**Principal Accountabilities**
- (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)_
- Operationally checks repaired or modified systems for proper operation.
- Performs quality maintenance on assigned aircraft in accordance with federal aviation regulations, original equipment manufacturers, or military technical orders as specified in the statement of work instructions.
- Repair and replace aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and associated equipment.
- Read and interpret manufacturers' and maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Examine engines for oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
- Inspect turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks.
- Test engine operation, using troubleshooting procedures and diagnostic test equipment, to identify source of malfunction.
- Replace or repair worn or damaged components using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
- Remove and install engine from aircraft.
- Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
- Repair or replace defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.
- Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Knowledge of aircraft sub-systems, including maintenance parameter, systems operation, limitations, and technical orders.
- Ability to become qualified and perform engine runs for the aircraft type they are assigned to support.

**Experience & Education**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) or more years’ aircraft mechanic experience as an aircraft mechanic on assigned aircraft required, five (5) years preferred.
- Completion of formal maintenance training on assigned aircraft is desired.
- Qualified by the appropriate USG armed forces aircraft mechanic maintenance course or civilian equivalent training.
- Recent full-time experience in aviation maintenance with the assigned aircraft during the past 12 months.
- Six (6) months of flight line and overhaul & inspection experience.
**Physical Requirements/Working Environment**
- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.

Aircraft Mechanic Lead (UC-35)1) Ensures that assigned personnel have access to and use adequate technical data during all phases of aircraft maintenance.

In this role, you will be part of a team primarily responsible for Aircraft Communications and Datalink of Qatar Airways Fleet. You will ensure the aircraft operations is conducted in a safe and economical manner satisfying all related regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
Additional responsibilities are as follows:
- Designing and programming of all aircraft AOC Databases/AMIs
- Implementation of Datalink projects, following up on worldwide Datalink and Surveillance mandates and serve as the point of contact with DSPs and Manufacturers

- Troubleshooting and investigating airborne and ground Datalink Systems’ issues and transmission failures as well as DSP Service Interruption follow-up

- Bachelor of Engineering - Aeronautical / Aerospace / Mechanical or alternatively Electronic Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years Datalink Engineering experience within an airline operations environment.
