- Electrical Designs: develop electrical designs for buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects using Revit software. This should include (but not limited to) the following:
- 1) Designing power distribution systems and preparing Single Line Diagram SLD,2) Lighting Layouts, Small Power Layouts and Cable Routing Layouts,3) Fire Alarm Systems4) Lightning Protection & Earthing Systems.
- Conduct Design Calculations: Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution studies, Circuit Breaker & Cable Sizing, Cable Tray Sizing, Battery Sizing, Panel Schedules, and voltage drop calculations.
- Prepare Technical Drawings: Generate electrical schematics, layouts using CAD/Revit and 3D models, and design documents, ensuring compliance with local regulations such as Kahramaa, QCDD, MOI, international codes and standards.
- Coordinate with other Disciplines: Collaborate with the electrical team as well as architects, structural engineers and MEP team using latest software such as Revit for seamless integration of electrical designs with other disciplines.
- Evaluate Equipment Specifications: Assess electrical equipment specifications by contacting local suppliers and provide recommendations for selection of the electrical equipment.
- Provide Technical Support: Offer technical support and guidance to project teams, including other engineers and draft team, on all related electrical design tasks.
- Stay Updated: Keep up to date of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering design.
- Conduct Regular Quality Review: to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the electrical models, drawings, and associated documentation.
- BOQ Technical Support: assist QS Team in producing BOQ for Electrical Systems**Key Qualifications**
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- UPDA Certification
- Experience working on commercial, residential, or industrial projects, especially STP will be advantageous
- Code Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical codes, international standards and regulations as well as PWA / Kahramaa / QCDD / MOI requirements,
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, particularly in conveying Revit-related design requirements and solutions,
- Software Capabilities: Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD), Strong knowledge in Revit and electrical design tools (e.g., ETAP, Dialux).
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality Design Document,
- Familiarity with BIM processes and collaboration tools.

Job Description
The role holders will have responsibility for operating and monitoring field equipment, in all field areas of the Power Station/ Power Generation plant to assist in achieving effective optimum operational status. They are deployed in the field on a shift basis, and they have an emergency response role and must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO Integrated Management Systems procedures. They have authority to make field related emergency decisions as per equipment operating procedure and handling of emergencies, and in normal plant situations, in consultation with Panel operator and Shift Supervisor.
Key Accountabilities
- Operate field equipment in accordance with operating procedures and approved safety and environment procedures to ensure effective and optimum operational status of equipment. Make decisions to stop/start equipment based on experience and abnormal situations.
- Monitor and log all operating parameters to ensure operations are within normal limits that all irregularities are reported to panel operator for advice and/or Shift Supervisor for solution.
- Participate in one relevant off the job training course prescribed by QAFCO or have equivalent education and experience to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the plant, shift supervisor can assign them as and when required.
- Develop an understanding of all operational procedures and practices through on-the-job training to ensure readiness and capability to effectively operation of all field areas of the plant.
- Provide immediate first-line response capability in the event of emergencies or major incidents in order to eliminate or limit potential loss or damage to QAFCO personnel, assets and the environment. Make appropriate decisions considering the situation.
- Perform and provide the necessary assistant on-the-job training of new and trainee operators to ensure they develop the necessary skills to independently operate the allocated areas of the plant.
- Perform and adhere to housekeeping procedure to maintain a safe, clean and neat work environment.
- Minimum of High School + 2 years Diploma in relevant discipline
- Minimum of 5 years direct experience working in Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Oil & Gas Industry.
- Experience in the start-up/shutdown and normal operations of power stations; installation, maintenance, testing and/or operation of gas turbine driven generators, transformers, pumps, motors, batteries, battery chargers, PLCs, 66kV indoor/outdoor substations, switch boards, oil/vaccum/SF6 gas insulated circuit breakers etc. Experience in operation of GE frame 6 gas turbines, Rolls Royce Avon gas generators, Speedtronic Mark V control system, Honeywell micro TDC 3000 operating system, etc will be an added advantage.
- Familiar with the process operations of power generators with steam and gas turbines, power distribution system, DCS Process, Emergency Shutdown and Fire & Gas Systems, etc.
- Know how to control an emergency or critical situation, prepare shut down and start up process systems in a safe and controlled manner protecting personnel from injury and plant or equipment from damage.
- Know how to read diagrams and extract information from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Know how to use the full complement of firefighting equipment and understand the Permit to Work (PTW) system.

We are hiring a UX designer for our Design System Team. You will play a key role in making open source software available to the world. Our Design function ensures the experience of the software and infrastructure we build is true to our intentions and delivers the tools our community and customers need. The Design System UX designer defines, evolves and advocates for a consistent use of design systems that scale across our products. This role sits in the design system team reporting to Design Systems Management. Location: remote in the EMEA region.
Responsibilities- Building and evolving Canonical's design system, ensuring measurable adoption, consistency, scalability and accessibility across our products
- Collaborating with designers, engineers and stakeholders to translate user needs and brand principles into reusable components, patterns and guidelines
- Championing design system best practices, advocating for cohesive user experience and design, providing documentation and support for cross-functional teams
- Designing and documenting UI components, design tokens and interaction patterns
- Ensuring timely and efficient delivery of the roadmap
- Enabling alignment on design system usage and governance across teams
- Advocating for accessibility, performance, and scalability in design system decisions and iterating based on data and technological advancements
- Staying ahead of industry trends, ensuring innovation while balancing system coherence and performance
- Relevant experience in UX/product design, with a strong focus on design systems in complex environments
- A portfolio demonstrating strong expertise in design systems, including component libraries, documentation and handling complex environments
- Excellent educational achievements in design or related behavioral science discipline
- Expertise in Figma, Storybook and design token workflows
- Experience collaborating with engineers and bridging design and code
- Proven ability to apply design process and clearly communicate and document design decisions
- Excellent attention to detail and systemic approach to solving complex design challenges
- Commitment to transparent project delivery and owning team deadlines
- A passion for balancing consistency and innovation
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
