To support the Line Manager in the development of new DQ (Discover Qatar) products, focusing predominantly on the development of DQ owned (created) products. Take responsibility for all aspects of product design, pricing and commercialization including staff training, SOPs (with operations team) and enhancements.
Key Accountabilities IncludeOperational
- Support the Line Manager and give output and new innovative ideas to develop excursion and tour packages in and around Qatar.
- Identify and create products and services which match the marketing strategy, target customer groups and the requirements from the key markets of Qatar Airways network.
- Review current products by analyzing and making recommendations based on current needs and future requirements, by reviewing product specifications, requirements and appraising new product ideas and/or product or changes.
- Develop, execute, and manage project plans for the development of new tours and excursions in a timely and cost efficient manner. Inspect and take stock of all tourist related sites, monuments, museums, and other attractions. Monitor customer and consultant feedback on the tours and service. Ensure correct loading and content is hosted within the DO systems.
- Develops DQ product portfolio addressing the customer and new channel needs in line with the unit's business plan. Manages project budgets, prepares financial analysis reports for higher management review.
- Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing and anticipating product cost.
- Provide evaluation in the expertise of:
- Key development of projects by providing feedback / suggestions / advice on design and module changes with consultations between team members and stakeholders.
- Testing products and services, measuring the levels of acceptance and success rates with stringent quality control.
- Initiate a process of continuous improvement to ensure that products are continuously refreshed and improved to better meet customer needs and that DQ products are in line with market trends.
- Inspect competitors' products by researching and overseeing product development based on industry best practice.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

- Minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree or equivalent is essential
- 7+ years of job-related experience.
- Product development, negotiation and contracting experience at a managerial level in large wholesale tour operations with successful track record in delivering wholesale tour programs.
- Excellent negotiation and contracting skills.
- Excellent understanding of all aspects of international tour operations.
- Comprehensive regional/ product knowledge of Qatar and GCC in particular.
- Sound understanding of margins and profits for a wholesale tour operation.
- High degree of computer literacy.
- An understanding of the international Tour Operator model, including online distribution.

We are recruiting for Quality & Configuration Control Senior Engineer, to be based in Doha, Qatar.
The role of Quality & Configuration Control Senior Engineer is responsible for oversight and enforcement of Quality Assurance objectives mandated by regulatory authorities (EASA and QCAA) and adopted by the QR Organization, to ensure that the equipment and training devices are fit for purpose, consistent and effective in the delivery of training services in a safe and efficient manner. The role is primarily responsible for ensuring Regulatory Compliance for FSTD & SEP operation, achieved by the development and execution of quality management processes, with emphasis on QTG expertise and FSTD Objective testing methodology. The responsibility of this role extends to other areas of Quality control, including Facility Compliance, FSTD Inventory, and external customer configuration management.
**Specific responsibilities for the role include**:
- Advisory role in reviewing department Standard Engineering Procedures manual and best practices for FSTD preventative maintenance.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to regulatory compliance, requirements as cascaded from Training Department, and safety measures dictated by Group OHS policy as well as particular to FSTD operation.
- Support the expansion of EASA Extended Evaluation Program for self-assessment of FSTD’s resulting in cost saving and achieving increased independence in regulatory compliance.
- Plan assigned activities in an effective and efficient manner, operate equipment and tools relative to assigned tasks within framework of Qatar Airways procedures.
- Review of work procedures and standards, propose improvements to procedures to ensure work processes are effective.
- Responsible for the final release of work accomplished by simulator engineers. Ensure tasks are performed to meet company standards and targets such as availability KPls and deficiencies ECDs. All simulator components maintenance work is accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures.
- Supervise a team of simulator engineers Level 1 & 2, ascertaining that quality control tasks are completed efficiently, are compliant with procedures, and meet task objectives.
- Recommends and develops new procedures for configuration control and development of Configuration Control Procedures.
- Monitor and ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements of QR and the staff are maintained at all times.
- Analyze technical data for Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain Aviation Authority certifications for all the devices and training Center under EASA and QCAA as per CS-FSTD(A) rules and regulations. This is through interfacing with regulatory authorities for FSTD bookings, scheduling of qualification activities, and timely submission of required validation documentation (QTG’s).
- Act as focal point of ITC during all internal and external Audits (EASA Initial and recurrent evaluations, QCAA, CMS, ATO, SEP.
- Create and report Key Performance Indicators to Training Management and ITC Management in order to highlight potential problematic issues related to the running of the training resources (simulators or facility as a whole).
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
