Position OverviewAs a Power Systems Engineer in our Energy team, you will design, analyse and optimise electrical systems across power generation, transmission and distribution projects. You will help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of these systems and contribute to redefining the future energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated power system solutions that align with our clients' goals and environmental objectives.
- Design, model, and simulate power systems, incorporating renewable energy sources, energy storage, and smart grid technologies.
- Conduct comprehensive power system studies, including load flow, transient stability, and fault analysis, to ensure reliable and resilient system performance.
- Evaluate and implement advanced control strategies for power systems, maximising efficiency and minimising environmental impact.
- Provide expertise in grid integration of renewable energy projects, ensuring seamless and stable integration with existing power infrastructure.
- Analyse and interpret power system data to identify trends, opportunities for optimisation, and areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Develop relationships with clients, identify and pursue project opportunities, and provide support and direction on tenders and bids.
- Contribute to the development of technical reports, proposals, and presentations to communicate complex concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in power systems engineering, renewable energy technologies, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in power systems engineering, including renewable energy integration and grid analysis.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software such as PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, IPSA or PowerWorld.
- Experience developing or implementing bespoke automation to power network analysis (typically using Python, C++, and VBA languages).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
- Knowledge of Middle East energy regulations, standards, and industry trends.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with relevant professional engineering associations (e.g., IET, CIGRE).
- Commitment to sustainable practices and passion for driving positive change in the energy sector.
