We are currently seeking an experienced/ skilled Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be leading and responsible for all design activities.

Minimum Qualification:

Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a reputable university.

Experience:

Should have worked for a minimum of 20 years in the capacity of senior engineer level in the relevant field and should have worked for major projects of substation & transmission systems (132kV/220kV/400kV systems) involving design, inspection, erection and commissioning & testing of GIS, circuit breakers, overhead transmission lines, transformers and all auxiliary systems of substation etc.

In the above projects, he should have carried out / prepared preliminary studies, tender documents, contract procedures, technical specifications, bid evaluation.

Must be fully conversant / referred all relevant international standards and shall have working experience in IEC & ISO 9000 systems.

Scope:

1. Site Investigation & Preliminary Studies

2. Preparation of tender documents, contract procedures, technical specification, evaluation of bids.

3. Will be responsible to establish and maintain documented procedures to control and verify the design submitted by the contractor or the design produced by the consultants themselves.

4. Responsible for design including description, calculation, layouts, protection & control but not limited to the following works.

i. GIS (400 kV, 220 kV,132 kV, 66 kV,33 kV).

ii. Switchyards, Circuit Breakers, Isolators, CT, VTs, capacitor banks etc.

iii. Switchgear (33 kV & 11 kV - Vacuum & SF6).

iv. Transformer station

v. Load calculations

vi. System study

vii. Other auxiliary associated equipment in the substations (LVAC Distribution Boards, etc.).

5. design and development or design review activities.

6. Formal documented review of the contractor's proposal/design should be conducted.

7. All design changes and modifications are identified and documented and all these changes subject to KAHRAMAA's approval.

8. Will be responsible for tender document preparation, setting the specifications that meet the requirements of the client, preparation of B.O.Q and evaluation of Bids. All the above works will be under supervision of the client.

9. Periodically site visits in order to check the design implemented according to approved documentation.

Primary Objective

  • Must have a proven track record of managing multiple projects in Design & Engineering in the oil and gas industry

Specific responsibilities for the role include:

  • Develop and implement continuous improvement of maintenance delivery against demonstrated level of current performance.
  • Oversee maintenance of training systems to ensure delivery of planned maintenance and routine in inspections to meet mandatory performance, safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain standards to ensure all relevant scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and defect rectification is time bound.
  • Oversee quality control effort to maintain certification of FSTD equipment by adhering to regulatory body requirements for device fidelity with approved data, operational availability of the equipment, and configuration control of the training devices with respect to the aircraft fleet.
  • Support auditing activities by internal bodies (Group Safety & Security), external regulatory authorities (EASA, QCAA), as well as audits by internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level or equivalent in Engineering with 9 years of job-related experience.
  • Significant experience in design and maintenance of Full Flight Simulators and FTDs.
  • Good experience in database and network administration activities.
  • Knowledge of authorities' requirements and regulations.
  • Work experience in regulatory compliance role for FSTD operation preferred.
  • Understanding of EASA/QCAA standards and regulations.
  • Strong leadership / team management skills, hands on business style - ability to "make things happen".
  • Excellent planning/organizing, analytical and problem-solving skills/techniques.
  • Ability to converse, influence and maintain dialogue with managers, staff and external stakeholders at all levels.

Job Overview:
The Regional Discipline Manager - Mechanical & Metallurgy Engineering is tasked with the development of departmental plans, including business, production, and/or organizational priorities. The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and the ability to understand the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. The Regional Discipline Manager - Mechanical & Metallurgy Engineering manages multiple related teams in multiple office locations, sets their organizational priorities, and allocates the appropriate resources. As the Mechanical disciplines Subject Matter Expert (SME), they must be able to identify and resolve a range of complex technical, operational, and organizational problems for all of the mechanical sub-disciplines (rotating equipment, static equipment, packaged equipment). In addition to core mechanical discipline knowledge, must also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of metallurgy (materials and corrosion) engineering. The role directly impacts business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and/or technologies, and developing policies and plans.

Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to managers and professional staff within a department.
  • Accountable for the performance and results of multiple disciplines within a department.
  • Apply managerial expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives.
  • Resolve a variety of complex problems that have implications within the area of responsibility.
  • Develop operational plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Influence customer and/or organizational leadership to achieve operational objectives.
  • Manage the performance of Discipline employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment, and coaching.
  • Contribute to functional strategy development.
  • Propose scope splits between Engineering offices and/or subcontractors (as applicable) at the bid stage and the award.
  • Negotiate with other engineering disciplines, Fabrication, Marine, and Project Management Teams to ensure the best schedules and execution plans within agreed budgets.
  • Attend project kickoff and review meetings, vendor meetings, and engineering meetings, as required.
  • Interface with peers and Global Engineering.
  • Foster teamwork of Regional or Functional Managers.
  • Provide and direct bid assistance.
  • Ensure availability and allocate discipline manpower resources as required to provide agreed deliverables and meet agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Maintain historical norms to establish budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare/review the department's budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage financial and operational objectives.
  • Ensure departmental plans are aligned with business, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Meet group DOE forecasts, within schedule and budget.
  • Review/approve departmental key documents and drawings such as:
  • Progress and productivity report.
  • Workhours/timesheet bookings.
  • Requisitions for software, computers, and other departmental expenses.
  • Expense reports.
  • Estimates for proposals, including cost, schedule, and manhour estimates and execution plans.
  • Forecasting reports.
  • Project-specific procedures and design reports.
  • Conduct staff feedback meetings.
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems.
  • Keep the Director, Area Manager, and Project Management Teams apprised of high-level activities and concerns, technical, budgetary, and manpower related.
  • Plan and recommend department manpower, training/ development and assist in recruiting resources.
  • Coordinate the training and development of Discipline personnel.
  • Evaluate performance and recommend changes in the classification and compensation of department personnel.
  • Travel on a regular basis to the other office locations within Offshore Middle East and if required, also to the Chennai engineering center.

Liaise with: Engineering Directors in regional office locations, Managers and Supervisors of other Engineering / Design Disciplines, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Management Teams; Offshore/Onshore Managers, Planning Managers, Proposals Department, Procurement Department, Safety Department, HR Department, QC and Certification Group, External McDermott Offices, Client Representatives, Vendor & Subcontractor Representatives

Supervises: All Discipline Managers, Engineers, Designers, and support personnel within the department

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Twenty plus (20+) years of experience and proven leadership experience in Oil and Gas with major contractors or consultants.
  • Five plus (5+) years of proven management experience of leading the full mechanical discipline (Rotating, Package and Static equipments plus HVAC scope) in a similar Oil and Gas industry contractor or consultants.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or member of Professional Engineering Society as applicable.
  • General multi-discipline knowledge of design techniques and analysis methods, and general knowledge of the theory, content, and application of statutory codes and guidelines as applicable offshore.
  • Detailed knowledge of project execution and managerial skills.

The EPC Sales Manager is responsible for developing and completing a focused, independent strategy to grow Emerson's Measurement Solutions business through Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors in Qatar. The ideal candidate is a mature, dedicated individual with strong eye for business and the ability to independently create and close value-driven opportunities in a highly competitive EPC landscape.

This position requires close collaboration with sales managers handling end-users to align project ownership and follow-through, as well as with proposals, inside sales, Business Development managers and factory support teams.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Strategic Project Pursuit:
  • Identify and qualify strategic capital project opportunities aligned with business objectives.
  • Own assigned project pursuits from early engagement (Pre-FEED/FEED) through to PO, ensuring clarity in roles, timelines, and value propositions.
  • Actively seek out new project leads, prequalification opportunities, and build influence early in the project lifecycle to improve Emerson's value positioning.
  • Develop detailed pursuit strategies by understanding customer business drivers, collaborator needs, and project value impact.

EPC & Customer Engagement:
  • Build and manage strong relationships with EPC contractors, FEED consultants, OEMs, end users, and key project influencers.
  • Effectively communicate Emerson's project value messaging to technical and commercial participants at all levels.

Account & Relationship Management:
  • Own and develop key EPC accounts with clear engagement plans.
  • Coordinate closely with End User Sales Managers to align project tracking, avoid account overlap, and support shared opportunities.

Project Funnel & Forecasting:
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive project funnel (KOB1, KOB2) using CRM tools, ensuring accurate opportunity tracking and forecasting.
  • Lead periodic funnel reviews with internal partners to monitor progress and drive conversion.

Sales Process & Execution:
  • Demonstrate autonomy in managing customer relationships and navigating internal resources to drive timely decision-making and execution.
  • Take full ownership of sales cycle activities from initial contact to closure, including contract negotiation and customer alignment.
  • Lead the structured pursuit process across cross-functional pursuit teams, ensuring clear ownership, actions, and accountability.
  • Engage product specialists, factory teams, and executive sponsors to develop compelling project-specific value propositions.

Proposal & Commercial Support:
  • Collaborate with PMO, proposal, and application engineering teams to develop winning proposals with competitive pricing strategies.
  • Provide input on tender clarifications, pricing, terms, and commercial negotiations to secure Emerson's positioning at lowest cost of acquisition.

Post-Order & Upselling:
  • Work with the PMO to identify upselling opportunities after initial PO award and continue engagement for project lifecycle support.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitor Awareness
  • Monitor competitor activities and share insights with the factory, regional sales teams, and global pursuit networks to refine positioning strategies.

Cross-BU & Global Collaboration:
  • Actively collaborate with other Emerson Business Units, world area pursuit teams, and factory resources to align on strategy, pursuit ownership, and account development.
  • Compliance & Ethics:
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with Emerson's trade compliance, ethics, and HSE guidelines.
