- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cased Hole Wireline field operations required.

  • Prepares various FMT / CE-related briefings, including Program Status Review (PSR) and Program Review (PMR) meetings.
  • Produces special reports, as required by the CE Functional or Operations Manager.
  • Collects data from various sources like Maximo and BUILDER SMS for inclusion in reports.
  • May conduct and document construction and maintenance project inspections as directed.
  • Manages electronic and hard copy filing systems.
  • Assists with the creation and update of AutoCAD drawings.
  • May travel to other GPMS sites within the program.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Works in normal office environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an advanced level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
  • Must have technical background to receive AutoCAD, BUILDER SMS and Maximo training if not currently qualified.
  • Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
  • May be required to work at exterior and interior locations throughout facilities in the program.
  • Light to moderate lifting as required carried out in an office environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

    The College of Engineering and Technology invites applications for faculty positions in the Construction Engineering Department at the Associate Professor and Assistant Professor ranks for Winter 2026.

    Your Commitment

    As a faculty member, you will report to the Head of the Department and be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating a broad range of courses within Construction Engineering and related diploma, degree, and graduate programs. You will also evaluate student progress and manage the learning environment resources. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with industry and other educational institutions, participate in industry advisory committees, and coordinate, manage, and supervise final year/capstone projects within the specified program area.

    You will keep course portfolio documents required for program review and accreditation processes and engage in instructional and new program development. The College encourages applications from research-active faculty members who will also enhance applied research and innovation.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    Faculty members will be placed in the appropriate rank based on their education and experience. The broad criteria are provided below.

    For Associate Professor and Assistant Professor

    • A PhD in Construction Engineering or a closely related field, specifically Smart & sustainable green building, New Construction Technology, Construction Engineering Management, Construction Project Management and Sustainable Built Environment, from an internationally recognized and accredited institution.

    Experience

    • A track record of academic excellence from internationally recognized and accredited institutions.
    • A minimum of five (5) years of academic experience after the PhD.
    • A minimum of three (3) years of industrial experience related to the field of study.
    • Competency in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Apply various teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences, including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
    • Ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.
    • Demonstrate academic and information literacy skills.

    Scholarship and Research

    • Demonstrate the ability to initiate and conduct independent applied research with the ambition and potential to make significant contributions at national and international levels.
    • Demonstrate the potential for research impact.
    • Professional recognition and standing amongst peers.
    • Proven track records in publication and firm plans for generating research income.

    Other required skills

    Job description Job summary:

    The engineering manager is responsible for assisting the chief engineer in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering department at Raffles & Fairmont Doha. This role ensures that all hotel facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, are properly maintained and meet safety, quality, and service standards. The engineering manager also focuses on energy conservation and sustainability initiatives, ensuring smooth operations and high levels of guest satisfaction.

    Key responsibilities:

    Operational oversight:

    • Support the chief engineer in managing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring that all systems and facilities are running efficiently and effectively.
    • Monitor and maintain the functionality of critical hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and fire safety systems.
    • Implement preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operation.
    • Respond quickly to guest and operational requests, ensuring prompt and professional handling of all maintenance issues.

    Team leadership:

    • Supervise, train, and mentor engineering staff, including mechanics, electricians, and technicians, ensuring high performance and technical competency.
    • Assign daily tasks to the engineering team and ensure proper follow-up and task completion.
    • Foster a collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement within the department.

    Maintenance planning and scheduling:

    • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all hotel systems and facilities.

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with operational standards.

    Energy and sustainability management:

    • Support the development and implementation of energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
    • Monitor energy and water consumption, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing waste.
    • Ensure that engineering activities align with the hotel's corporate social responsibility and environmental goals.

    Health, safety, and compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international safety regulations and building codes.

    • Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.

    • Ensure clear communication between the engineering department and other teams, providing updates on projects, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
