Our regional Support Managers run world-class Support teams - solving deep technical problems for customers around the world on Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Desktop and on the public cloud. They demonstrate two key attributes: customer focus - ensuring that customers are always satisfied with the service they are receiving, and technical excellence - ensuring that the support team is always up to date with the our technology, and that they perform sound and quick troubleshooting. We are looking for managers for both of our support groups; Cloud Support Group and Devices Support Group.
You'll need to be comfortable in a fast paced environment, able to take responsibility for delivering to customers and enjoy challenges. You will also need to care deeply about your team, their skills, and their career development.
The role entails
- Management of a professional support team, including skills development and performance management
- Operational control, shift scheduling, accountability for key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensures that all customer cases are responded to within the SLA, and in a professional manner
- Act as the customer escalation contact, and ensure that such escalations are addressed appropriately
- Accountability for customer satisfaction
- Contribution to the support knowledge base
- Continuous improvement to the team's processes and support service delivery
- Hire, develop and train support team to match business requirements
- Work with the leadership team to drive growth and transformation initiatives
- Extensive CLI experience with Linux at a technical level (Support, Development, Implementation)
- Leadership experience, and preferably team management experience
- Confidence under pressure, with proven track record of high customer focus
- Preferably fluent in two languages, English being primary one
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience or knowledge of Linux Desktop, OpenStack, Public Cloud or Virtualization technologies
- Proven track record of contributing to Open Source projects
- Software development experience
- Experience in working in support organizations
- Hands on experience with Canonical's products

Key AccountabilitiesProcess Support Engineering
Investigate and resolve production issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve process reliability.
Proactively seek opportunities for process enhancement, introduction of new technologies, and application of best practices to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Maintain a deep technical understanding of production processes and apply this knowledge to optimize performance and ensure compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment on objectives and drive results.
Enhance monitoring systems for process performance, including product yields, quality parameters, flow rates, catalyst productivity, and transfer conditions. Develop and utilize advanced tools for process assessment and performance optimization.
Provide effective solutions during plant upsets and operational issues, recommending changes to procedures and settings. Review and update documentation, including control narratives, ESD procedures, alarm indexes, PID drawings, control valve datasheets, and other critical process-related records.

Apply simulator modeling expertise for troubleshooting and performance improvement of process units.
Mentor and train junior engineers, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing. Assist in developing training content and supporting internal capability building.
Provide engineering support for equipment inspections and integrate findings into process recommendations.
Conduct risk assessments for process activities and implement measures to mitigate operational and environmental risks.
Align process improvements with internal and external stakeholder requirements. Act on feedback to meet or exceed expectations and enhance customer satisfaction.
Leverage data analytics tools to monitor process trends and performance. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support data-driven decisions.
Conduct thorough root cause analyses for process failures using standard methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys), and work cross-functionally to implement corrective actions.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement initiatives to meet budgetary goals while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
