Sustaining Engineering is a business critical team that continuously improves various open source software by resolving software defects reported by customers. Software stack includes everything from the kernel all the way up to the user space applications and IaaS platforms. This position leads one of our regional teams and is one of several managers, who report directly to the global Director of Sustaining Engineering.

Our customers build large-scale mission critical infrastructure and application solutions on Ubuntu and open source from Canonical. While not actively developing products, Sustaining Engineering, as part of Support Engineering, solves problems for the customer and for the benefit of the wider Open Source community. This team is well staffed with experts in every time zone and, while the work can be challenging sometimes, the team is resourced to ensure a good work-life balance and ongoing development of each team member.

As an engineering manager in the Sustaining Engineering team, your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, making valuable contributions, and generally having a great experience at Canonical. Technical leadership and a solid background in software development are a must, so that you are able to help your team members grow professionally. The ICSS will manage the EPCI contractor in all project phases. Drive work execution, ensuring technical alignment and quality with various disciplines stakeholders from both PMT and EPC Contractor. Manage the Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) purchase orders for systems with the EPC Contractor and System Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating facilities.
Drive Contractor to develop plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of project activities and provide data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.

Qualification:

8+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry with at least five years demonstrated as ICSS Lead on EPCI Projects in an Oil & gas industry project having broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, site integration testing and commissioning. Additionally, demonstrated leadership skills, management of contractor and ICSS vendor and exposed to challenging project delivery schedule.

Job Purpose:

Manage the Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) purchase orders for systems with the EPC Contractor and System Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating facilities. Drive Contractor to develop plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of project activities and provide data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays for monthly progress and stewardship reporting. Qualification: 8+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry with at least five years demonstrated as ICSS Lead on EPCI Projects in an Oil & gas industry project having broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, site integration testing and commissioning. Job summary:

The engineering manager is responsible for assisting the chief engineer in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering department at Raffles & Fairmont Doha. This role ensures that all hotel facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, are properly maintained and meet safety, quality, and service standards. The engineering manager also focuses on energy conservation and sustainability initiatives, ensuring smooth operations and high levels of guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities:

Operational oversight: Support the chief engineer in managing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring that all systems and facilities are running efficiently and effectively. Monitor and maintain the functionality of critical hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and fire safety systems. Implement preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operation. Respond quickly to guest and operational requests, ensuring prompt and professional handling of all maintenance issues. Team leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor engineering staff, including mechanics, electricians, and technicians, ensuring high performance and technical competency. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with operational standards. Energy and sustainability management: Support the development and implementation of energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact. Monitor energy and water consumption, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing waste. Ensure that engineering activities align with the hotel's corporate social responsibility and environmental goals. Health, safety, and compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international safety regulations and building codes. Oversee the safe operation of all hotel facilities, including maintaining fire safety systems, emergency lighting, and building security. Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations. Participate in regular safety drills and emergency response exercises, ensuring readiness in case of any incidents. Budget and inventory management: Assist in managing the engineering department's budget, including tracking expenditures for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects. Oversee inventory control for spare parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability while minimizing excess stock. Collaborate with the purchasing team to procure materials and services as required for repairs and ongoing maintenance work. Project management: Assist with the planning and execution of renovation and capital improvement projects, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget. Liaise with external contractors and service providers to ensure high-quality project execution, particularly for large-scale engineering projects. Oversee the commissioning and decommissioning of engineering systems as needed during renovations or upgrades. Collaboration with other departments: Work closely with housekeeping, food & beverage, and front office departments to ensure that guest areas and back-of-house facilities are well maintained and operational. Ensure clear communication between the engineering department and other teams, providing updates on projects, repairs, and maintenance schedules. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team. Experience in energy management, sustainability initiatives, and cost control is preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using relevant software, including BMS (Building Management Systems) and maintenance tracking systems. Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and building codes. Engineering Supervisor

to join our team and ensure our facilities remain safe, fully functional, and well-maintained at all times. The Engineering Supervisor assists in the daily supervision of the Engineering Department and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the hotel’s buildings, systems, and equipment. This role supports operational excellence and guest satisfaction by leading a team of technicians and coordinating maintenance tasks.
